What is going to rattle him is when he gets his ass planted in the turf- the same thing that rattles any other qb. It all boils down to skill set and ability and it is way to early to tell if he will have what it takes to make it in the league.

Dude he was rattled, he admitted as much. He said he lost his composure.

He was basically apologizing for making an obscene gesture on tv. Do you really think the comments/finger changed his game? If he alluded to that than it was because his other option was to say he was plain n simply stinking up the joint.

Gameday Thread: Browns vs. Redskins

He said he did a good job holding his composure all nite and had a lapse in judgement and slipped up. In other words sorry good holy people of America for doing that on tv. Lol.
Edit: im not denying that he was rattled, just debating why. I dont believe it was name calling - I believe it was the Skins sacking his ass and the speed of an NFL D. The finger was just extra - Ryan Clarke basically said as much.

Otherwise known as he lost his cool, came undone, or was rattled. Not sure what else you call it. They guy is immature as evident by his on and off the field behavior. Not exactly a leader or what you expect from a 1st rd pick. When Johnny doesn't get his way he throws a tantrum.

But he didnt throw a tantrum. Ryan Leaf threw a tantrum. Ryan Leaf showed the world he was a strait up head case that couldnt handle being an nfl qb. Manziel is a smug cocky punk, but not a head case. Even when he flipped off the bench, he was headed back to the huddle, and getting back in the game, and was like oh by the way eff off. Does he have the physical skill set to make it in this league? I dont know. However I dont see it as a Ryan Leaf thing at all.

Tantrums come in many different sizes. Doesn't have to be a full-blown meltdown like Leaf. Johnny got upset he was playing like shit and all the trash talk got to him. You can bet other teams are taking notes.

Agreed- but due to the fact that it wasnt really a "melt down" im just holding off on saying he doesnt have what it takes mentally to be a player/leader in this league. Sirius radio was just talking about him and Leaf as a matter of fact and pointed out that Leafs teammates didnt like the guy from day one. I think the Manziels teammates do like him and that speaks volumes about whats actually inside a guys head. As opposed to what outsiders think is in his head. Time will tell.

Are we sure his team mates liked him? I remember reading that several were unimpressed with him both as a player, as a pro, and as a person.

According to nfl radio (forget who) he seemed to believe they have his back. I havent heard anything negative as far as teammates go, but what do I know? Again time will tell on this one.

This is how i felt about Tebow. Absolutely rooted for the guy to fail miserably. Just dont have the hate for Manziel. In college -before all the negative shit- i really enjoyed watching him play n rooted for him. Maybe thats why.

I dont hate Tebow or Manziel.Tebow seems like a good guy and I wish he would get another shot but I doubt very much he will because of the media mess that goes with him.Same goes for Manziel,he screws this up any team that picks him up is going to have the same media circus with him.

I guess the reason I was pulling for Manziel is because I always thought Doug Flutie didnt get a fair shot in the NFL and JM is Flutie part deux.Manziel is such an ass it makes it hard to root for him,and if he does succeed like I want him to he's probably just going to become a bigger asshole

Tebow could have had another shot, as a TE. He might have been a good TE but we'll never know because he was too proud to change positions.

He has no future as an NFL QB - not because of the media hype but because he can't throw the football well enough.

Manziel IS Tebow. I don't mean in terms of playing style, I mean in terms of being an overrated, overhyped fail as an NFL QB.
