Re: Around the League: Week 2
I'm sure no one will say this, but these issues with Rice and Peterson, and the way the Ravens and Vikings have mishandled their situation, make the Redskins name controversy so insignificant IMO.

Re: Around the League: Week 2
Press conference for new domestic violence allegations towards Brandon Marshall is about as exciting as watching paint dry. I'll wait for the cliff notes. Though why the hell is the guy on the right wearing sun glasses? Unless he has what Richard Belzer where his eyes are extremely sensitive to light there's no good reason to wear shades in doors never mind at a major press conference.
Thats kind of what I was afraid of. We don't need people to sensationalize it anymore than necessary. You already have Ray Rice apologist trying to accuse every woman that comes forward as gold diggers and a con artist so if possible I'd like the issue to avoid as many credibility problems as possible.

Re: Around the League: Week 2
That was my first thought when Radisson pulled their money. If the people who want our name changed really want that to happen they need to bring it home to Fedex and Bon Secours among others. I actually think both those corporations would be sensitive to that type action. It would be interesting to see if they try that

Re: Around the League: Week 2
47 players have been convicted of assault charges against women since Goodell came into power.
None have them prior to Rice resulted in more than a 1 game suspension. Yeah. |

And the pictures are the only reason Peterson is on the "exempt list", whatever the heck that is. |

people needed a tape to think it's wrong for the NFL to allow players that beat women in their league making millions. You need a tape to understand what it means for a man to knock a woman out to get angry about it? (general "You", not you specifically )Pathetic. |

Adam 'Pacman' Jones -- Not Guilty of Punching Woman at Nightclub | TMZ.com giantone - i think any NFL punishment should wait until the court proceedings are concluded but i do think the NFL should reserve the ability to discipline a player immediately if substantial evidence of guilt is available from the beginning with the option to reduce, modify or increase punishment if and when the criminal proceeding is concluded or new evidence becomes known (exculpatory or inculpatory) |

Is Goodell in the Witness Protection Program? That man has been hiding under his desk since that horrible interview.

Wow, Congress is going to have a field day with this. I'd never thought I'd say this but thank you Ray Rice for being you. If it hadn't been for your knockout punch and the subsequent botched handling of the affair by the league office guys like Greg Hardy and Adrian Peterson as well as another 11 guys would have been well into the clear by now. After all its no secret that the NFL has been sweeping cases like this under the rug for years. I don't think I've ever seen so much good come out of something so evil. I mean we think about how the world is unfair and how the worst people get away with committing awful deeds. Maybe I'm being overly optimistic but it looks like thats about to change for the better..

Also, can't help but laugh at Anheuser Busch's moral high horse.
Do they realize most people consider their product that they make to be among the most damaging out there for society? |
