Re: Week 1 Positives and Negatives
KI do you give any slack to Rambo since it was Hall who had the blown assignment? Or is it all on Rambo?

Rambo has to make that tackle.

Re: Week 1 Positives and Negatives
Very true...although Rambo doesn't have to make the tackle if Hall doesn't blow the coverage.

As I said many times, we don't have a defense like Seattle, which can carry the whole team through a game.

Re: Week 1 Positives and Negatives
He can't tackle in the open field which makes him useless as a safety. That stands alone, regardless of what anybody else does on any given play. So, no I don't.

Re: Week 1 Positives and Negatives
Fine by me. You're mocking what I said now but, believe me, you haven't seen the last of this guy's poor tackling.
Anybody here remember former Redskins FS Stanley Richard? He was a poor tackler who never got any better. Richard nicknamed himself "The Sheriff" but the fans called him "Deputy Barney Fife". He was also known as "Speed Bump" to some of his teammates. Compared to what Richard was called, I'm being nice.

A little premature to write him off I think. I know everyone expects instant Pro Bowlers but more often than not players need time and experience. |

Re: Week 1 Positives and Negatives
No slack. Rambo was in position to make the tackle and yet again showed terrible technique. I have been hearing more and more about how Seattle players are all trained in the rugby technique in tackling. Aiming for the hips or lower and WRAPPING your arms around the ball carrier. Even if you do not bring him down, you slow him down so your help has time to arrive. What Rambo did on that play was incredibly bad technique. This is a major issue. You can teach a player proper technique, but when instinct takes in the heat of battle, you have to have the discipline to stay in control. Rambo loses his control for some reason.

Re: Week 1 Positives and Negatives
the coverage was blown but not by Rambo. I think it was Keim who said Rambo had it right, his job was to play the ball. Apparently, D Hall was lined up on the wrong side of the field.
