Yes he can, and here's how it works, when a player gets to a point where he's to old, and he cannot maintain his energy level over long periods of time, as well he takes extended periods of time to heal after a game, and over the coarse of time his weeknesses become more apparent, but his skill level can still be effective in short spurts off the bench occasionally, because he's had time to recharge his batteries persay, predominatly that's what's happed with QB's in the past, someone who know's how to run an offense who is not going to be surprised if called upon without notice, and can hold down the fort until the starter comes back, take on backup roles. So yes he can be washed up as a starter, yet be effective as a backup if called upon in limited circumstances. |

The good back up is analagous to the Closer is baseball who used to be a starter. His job is not to win the game, per se, but to finish the game without making mistakes that cost you the games. I think MB is a "Closer", certainly. My two cents I Just don't think Ramsey is a Starter. |

Offiss and LadyT are dead-on with their analyses. I have nothing more to add, aside from applauding them for sticking to their guns on this subject.

Re: Curious
Goodness I will applaud Brunell for his fine effort, but would Ramsey have been pulled already in this circumstance. I really think that all in all the game was tremendous, and we have 2 Quarterbacks that can play under these circumstances, as Joe Gibbs said one has to separate himself and lead this team.
Congrats to Gibbs and the Skins -> this is as sound of an effort I have seen in a long long while in terms of never giving up and playing with your heart. They showed a lot of heart and soul. I am especially proud of and happy for Coach Gibbs. He is a true class act overall. |
