I think some are jumping the gun a bit. No surgery needed for a fracture, but that's only half the story.

Kirk plays one good game and now we have a full fledged QB controversy? Have fans lost their minds? How about we temper this talk until we see Kirk's play until RGIII comes back.

Do you honestly think RG3 will return to his rookie season form, has he shown you he can be just a pocket passer?

Its not just Cousins, the team needs a qb who can hand the ball off to Morris and get rid of the ball quickly to very talented receivers.

A bad game or two from Cousins and people will be asking when Griff is coming back. lol

Everytime Ovechkin has been out for the Caps with injury I've seen the same thing. Caps play a decent game or two without him and suddenly people are calling for trades. However once the team starts struggling, particularly during games you can't count the cries for Ovechkin to come back fast enough.

At least Cousins can read beyond the first read...RG3 without any speed or escapability is about as worthless as it gets. People are still enamored with is 2012 performance instead of seeing him for what he has become...a hapless deer caught in a headlight.

This is football, next man up...if Cousins sucks, off with his head and onto the next one.

p.s. I hope I wasn't too trolly.

People seem to miss this point, Cousins isn't the end all savior, but right now he is a better qb than RG3 before the latest injury. We spent all 2013 being patient and supportive of RG3. For now move on.

Of course. Because everyone knows young QBs should be lighting the world on fire by their 5th career start. If not, they're clearly no better than a career backup.

If he doesn't have a few bad games, it would be almost unprecedented.

I would call this his second career start. The Cleveland game - his first start was meaningful and so is this game coming up. Last year was just garbage time on a sinking ship with a bunch of deflated players around him.

Re: Skins-Jags Positives and Negatives

Kirk Cousins is a young QB with even less NFL experience than RGIII. We are definitely going to see good and bad from him, even in the same game. That is to be expected.

Winning is winning. I'm not one to favor making any changes when the team is winning.

What if we win the next few games or go 4-1 with kirk or a simikar record... rg3 will miss 6 games at the very least... is this kirks team now?

I think it depends entirely on how Kirk plays. I'm in favor of not fixing something that's not broken, so if Kirk appears to be an essential cog in winning those games (and not losing the others) then I feel like the wise decision is to let Griffin heal up and not force an early return and see where Kirk takes the team.

I'd like to believe this organization is more interested in winning games and building the team to be the best it can be, not nursing the feelings of a QB they traded a lot for.

Of course, I am still high on Griffin and think he can be an elite quarterback. Hard to tell what Gruden et al think.
