I don't think anybody is saying it can't be done, it just doesn't happen very often... I'm not ready to pull the plug on III by anymeans... All I'm saying, and I think most of the board is, that if Cousins plays well this season and wins some games, I don't see how we can trade him/let him walk and put all our eggs in the RGIII basket... To me, that would be ignoring the reality he might never be the QB we drafted him to be... And we would be dumb to let Cousins go...

Can't keep them both. Logic says trading Cousins is still the plan, unless Cousins plays out of his mind and the team wins a ton of games it's hard to imagine the plan changing.

I think they can keep them both until 2016 when both of their contracts are up. By then everyone will know what RG and KC can do and then go from there.

In the end, probably the best course of action.

Both have 4 year deals that are up after the '15 season, Griffin has the 5th year team option. The downside of holding them both is you obviously lose the ability to trade Cousins.

Thanks for the contract clarification.

The downside of trading KC too soon is that you completely hitch your wagon to what is a damaged and apparently injury prone horse.

For once me and Irish agree. If we trade Cousins away next year finding a replacement backup has to be a top priority. I'm definitely not willing to bet on Griffin having an injury free future after this one.

I want a poster for a movie called The Shadow. A Wide Shot of RG3 looking down like the picture below with a shadow in the shape of Kirk Cousins.

Sometimes.....a starter......is only as good as his backup......

Staring James Gandolfini as RG3 and Michael Cera as Kirk Cousins. Why....Why Not?

Or if you get rid of RG3 and Kirk turn out to be average. People thought Ryan and Schaub were so great. Drop back QBs can fool you sometimes. Beck go the ball out his hands quickly but couldn't scare the defense deep. Cousins has his chance, he will be criticized just as much as RG3 was.

Unless RG III has a really great 2015 I can't see us resigning him. If they rush him out this season and he gets hurt yet again, we will indeed have a "Mr. Glass" on our hands.

By then, the league should have an idea of the fair trade value of one or both players, which might help to get a deal done if Cousins plays well. Because of Cousins' expiring contract, we won't be able to wait beyond this season to trade one of them.

But that is getting ahead of ourselves. I'm focused more on beating Philly right now.
