Because pass rushers don't grow on trees. I don't think Rak is elite either, but he's better than a combo of Phillip Daniels and Renaldo Wynn. Does anybody remember those days? A washed up Jason Taylor? All those years of having no pass rush should remind us how hard it is to have a good pass rush. So I can see why we put the tag on Rak, but in hindsight it's clear that money could've been better used elsewhere. At this rate we probably won't even offer him an extension in the offseason.

Clearly with Rak we still have huge and.....unpredictable pass rush problems. I don't know that I advocate dumping Rak. However, I advocate another route or at least augment our current alignment as.........it ain't where we need to be. I advocate "fixing it", and have no sacred cows....Rak, Kerrigan, etc. F...n Ely didn't get touched? That doesn't work

I remember but that guy is just so inconsistent man, I just feel that 11 million dollars could have gotten 2 or more defenders that would have the same impact as him, and I hope we dont offer him a contract, but all that means is that he will go to New England or something, switch back to DE and average 12-13 sacks a season for his career.

Well I did what needed to be done. I am dropping all Skins from my fantasy team. I picked up Cousins and I have had Niles for a few weeks, but both are bye bye Wed morning. Niles is a good TE, but he is going to get nailed from now on. Teams will know Cousins isn't worth a damn without his security blanket.

Re: Giants Game Negatives

The big negative all kidding aside with the fantasy football, is that we just might end up at square one for a qb in the near future. Cousins was outed and RGIII, while definitely the man, is one more nasty injury away from being a liability with not much trade value. Do you put him in there once he is cleared and risk his career, or do we just ride out the disaster in the making? Right now I say ride it out and keep Robert on the bench. It will give him time to properly heal up and give him more time to learn what he needs to learn to work within the system. Thing is even if that is how it goes, will RG III ever be able to change?

Re: Giants Game Negatives

Coming out of college he was "pro ready" according to many scouts. Sometimes that's another way of saying "he is who he is"

He's not as bad as we saw on Thursday, but I just have not seen in the past 5 years or whatever anything that tells me he will significantly up his game to another level. I think he can be a solid long term NFL QB, but in my opinion (and there are always outlier games) the best we've seen of him to this point is the best we will see of him.

Re: Giants Game Negatives

The criticiasm regarding Kirk, comes down to this, the difference makers, the truly elite players, overcome the deficiences of the rest of the team and still find a way to win. This franchise has operated under the quick fix mentality, which is why, we have the results that we have, like at least, one at home denning by an NFC East rival. The quick fix was Griffin in 2012 while his body held, clearly, it has not worked. Whether it scheme, the novelty of Griffen's speed preinjury, it worked for 2012. Kirk has some good games, and does certain things well, however, he has not been a diifference maker, or a guy who can carry the whole team on his back. For one brief season, Griffin could, it remains to be seen, if he can do it again.

Re: Giants Game Negatives

By the way, don't we have two spots open on the practice squad? Given how much help we need at D line, TE, etc., isn't it crazy that we haven't filled those spots and aren't trying hard to get guys in tune with our system?

If Griffin can't stay healthy, we will back up at the top of the draft gambling for a QB again.

Its totally different going into a game with a team prepared for you, esp if that team has a decent secondary.

I bet the pats could get a 2nd round pick for Brady after tonight.

Bad games happen.

I'm more concerned with defensive play than Captain K.

This team doesn't have a prayer if they have to score 40+ points to win.

KC didn't look very good but we all know that when you are playing from behind the opponent knows you have to pass a lot and defending gets a whole lot easier. I think a lot of KC's problems had to do with him trying to do too much to get a comeback going. The D stunk last year and its even worst this year.

Yeah, smh against the eagles, when late in the game, after the o had put up 30+ and the d had given up 30++, the d makes a stop, at least one poster here says that the d has redeemed itself, and many posters blame the o when they get stopped. nevermind what happened the rest of the game, it's the o's fault.
