Every QB has had a game like this. Matt Ryan threw 3 against Cincy a few weeks ago. But he looked like a rookie last night on some of those throws.

Maybe you should also look up nobody QBs who have thrown for 3 or more TDs for a little balance. Doesn't Matt Flynn hold the Packers record for most TD passes in a game. I'm pretty sure Josh McCowen should still be a backup. What ever happened to John Skelton? I'm guessing the ratio for backups throwing a slew of interceptions in single game has trended much higher than prolific starters too. 5 out of 11 games in his brief career Cousins has thrown 2 or more ints. And 8 out of those 11 games he has turned it over atleast once. Sounds a lot like the Rex Grossman effect to me. In contrast, Robert in his second year, undoubtedly his worst, threw for 2 ints or more (but never more) in 2 out of 13 games, and turned the ball over atleast once 10 out of 13 games. I don't believe that stats tell the whole story by any means, but I do believe if you're going to use stats they should be used diversely.

Re: Giants Game Negatives

I'll agree that Kirk has a pension, early on in his career, to throw interceptions. But I also think it is hard to deny that when given the time, Kirk has shown more natural ability to play the position, than Robert every has in his 3-years with the team. Robert's not throwing the interceptions like Kirk, because Robert's too busy awkwardly running around and flopping on the ground, either as a result of being hit by the opposing defense or simply because of his inability to slide properly. How can such a "great athlete" look so awkward when he gets out of the pocket. I have NEVER been impressed with Robert's ability to play the position at the NFL level, because he has shown that he just doesn't have the innate ability to process information quickly enough. When are we going to stop buying into the hype and start looking at the harsh reality. Robert Griffin III is a product of Redskins Nation's intense desire to finally win, after over two decades. And because the organization franchised its future to get him, the leadership at the top is unwittingly perpetuating this false belief in a player that has great potential, but will never be the player we want him to be in order to truly lead this team. I could go on but I think I have gotten my opinion across enough. I hope I am wrong. I wish I am wrong. Because at the end of the day I am a diehard skins fan and always will be. I just don't think I am!

Fuck it!! I'm not throwing in the towel just yet, I might in denial but I have faith. We currently have a lot injuries, young players starting (Amerson, Breeland, Cousins). These team is better than last year, we do still have some shitty players (Meriweather, Polumbus, Riley, Chester) but as the season progresses the team will get better (granted we get some of those folks back from injury. Playing with your 3rd string TE didn't help Cousins.

Re: Giants Game Negatives

Cousins has a mental aspect to his game that I do not like. Can he make some throws sure...

Can he handle a rush or pressure... NO. That is a huge problem moving forward and he does not have that it factor it takes to be a continually successful career.
He is what he is a 1-5 QB in games he has started and more importantly 2-1 as a guy coming in as a relief. That's it folks. He is a good backup but not a long term answer as starter

RG3 had one great year and a year when he played hurt. He was starting to catch traction this year but got hurt again. Cousin has the benefit of playing four years on a pro-style offense in college. So his fundamentals are more sound... Robert did not. Our division opponents know the weaknesses of this o-line and continually expose it when they play us. The coaches have a propensity to be too loyal to these players. Long and Moses should start to be on the field. Chester and Polumbus are dead end players. Moss should be on the field. He is a leader and he can not lead from the bench.

Im not sure about Griff catching traction. He certainly wasnt catching it against Houston. For a very short time he seemed good against Jacksonville, but KC also looked like Superman and Colt McCoy probably could have beat that team also. So...nice thought but ehhh.

"The NFL is an organization that rewards the number of active seasons in both their pension and 401k plan. The pension, which players become eligible for at age 55, gives them $470/month for each season they played. A player with 4 seasons would get $1880/month starting at age 55, for the rest of their life. However, each year inflation is eating away the value of those pension dollars."

Re: Giants Game Negatives

What no positives and negatives thread?

Positives:
There is no longer a qb controversy

Negatives:
There is no longer a qb controversy

This team just sucks, get ready for another last place finish.Every week another key starter gets injured, add to that the mistakes we make= bad team.
We shoot ourselves in the foot every chance we get,I hold my breath on every good play or td waiting for the flag to be thrown.
Orakpo,where the hell are you?
How can we have Desean Jackson,Garcon,Andre Roberts,Morris, etc and suck this bad?

I have been against the name change but now I dont care,we are cursed.Time to change the name and get this curse off us

Re: Giants Game Negatives

Yeah i want to add Orakpo to my list even though i mentioned "defense". This guy is the most overrated player in Redskins History. He NEVER EVER shows up when it counts and pretty much is invisible when it doesnt count too. He is hurt if he isnt invisible. He looks mean, and his name is mean. RAK! It might as well be JACK because thats what he brings to the organization.
