Re: Skins vs. Cards Positives + Negatives
Defensive rankings based on yards are worthless IMO. I think right now we're middle of the pack in terms of defensive rankings based on yards, but are dead last in points (which is more important). So while we're not giving up a ton of yards, we're giving up points.
We're also dead last in giveaways/takeways (-9), with a whopping 13 giveaways and only 4 takeways. Players need to start making plays both big and small. I'm sick and tired of seeing wideouts dropping key passes (Roberts), defensive players dropping INTs (Orakpo in the AZ game, Breeland in the Philly game, etc., etc.), and Cousins throwing mind boggling INTs. Aside from the Giants game, the Redskins are not getting blown out of the water (as they should be given our roster). Coaches and players just need to get their heads out of their asses and get their act together.

I think it was Ryan Clark (I love this guy's quotes, very honest) who said that our players seem to try to find ways to not lose, instead of trying to find ways to win. That seems like a great way to put it. It just feels like we're so close. If we could string a few wins together, maybe we could get some momentum and perhaps start playing better. I think some of us (including me) have deluded ourselves into thinking this roster is more talented than it really is, but I honestly don't think we're 3-13 bad. We just need guys to step up and make plays and start playing with an attitude. If you feel good, you play good. Unfortunately I think a lot of our players feel like losers. I can't wait for Griffin to come back. |
