That is exactly what I took away.

I think Gruden thought based off of the Jags game that we would come out and trounce the Titans, and since Cousins' turnover tendencies were mostly in the 4th quarter playing catch up, it was likely a non-issue. That is why he thought it best to stick with him through the week in practice, but once he started coughing it up in the first half and we were going into the locker room at halftime behind the Titans, there was no choice but to try his other option.

I agree with how body language is very telling. Definitely evident in Kirk.

I agree with Tandler's assessment. Other than his initial pass, which was only a five yard completion with Garcon doing all the rest, and the final drive, Colt was decidedly unimpressive.

However ... he did two things that Kirk has failed to do this year: Protect the ball, come up big in the 4th quarter.

Colt is the better starter now but, hopefully, RGIII comes in and we can see the difference.

I'm not knocking Garcon, who made a great play, but Michael Griffin was pathetic on that play. Like Bacarri Rambo pathetic.

To be fair, he and a lot of people have underestimated Garcons speed, which he showed he still has.

I don't understand Tandler's argument. Because this is what the west coast offense and specifically Jay's west coast offense is all about. You don't need a QB with a cannon for an arm. You want one who can put the ball in the right spot and let the WRs do the rest

I'll let Tandler take this one:

Quote:
A team can occasionally win a game with a passing performance like that but it’s unusual. A team has averaged 3.9 net yards per pass attempt in 285 games since the start of the 2010 season. Those teams are 31-254, a .109 winning percentage.
Edit: And I don't know where to finds the stats, but I think it's safe to say Cousins takes quite a few more shots down field.

It is only one play but I don't think it is fair to take it away to lower his stats to 3.9 ypa. That is going to be part of the game for the Skins. One cannot simply choose to ignore stats and I doubt he took yac away from the other QBs in his comparison.

Re: Titans vs. Skins Positives and Negatives.

Make no mistake, when healthy RG3 is far and away the best QB on this team and when he's ready he needs to be under center.

However, Colt did everything that was asked of him. Kirk has failed week after week. Long overdue for him to take a seat on the bench. I don't see how Colt was unimpressive. Did he do nothing on that game winning drive?

Re: Titans vs. Skins Positives and Negatives.

Colt was efficient and cool under fire. He definitely deserves some props and the starting nod next week if RG3 isn't back. I've had enough of Kirk's turnovers.

Colt did exactly what he needed to do (Kept the ball safe from the other team, and put the team in position to score enough to win).

Is he our long term answer, almost certainly not, but until RG3 gets better I think he is our best answer

Re: Titans vs. Skins Positives and Negatives.

Colt stepped in under Very tough circumstances with little or no practice with the first squad. As has been stated, he did what was necessary and most importantly.....HE WON!!!
Cousins is not done in this league and maybe not with this team. BUT, he needs to be done...for now
Ala Alex Smith-Thank you BMitch

Re: Titans vs. Skins Positives and Negatives.

Colt gave us a chance. We haven't even had that with KC in the game for a few weeks now. I hate it that KC didn't make the most of his opportunity but he needs to go back to the bench to get his head straight. He looked lost out there, repeatedly. I could understand benching him and starting him next week if it was a one time deal where he looked bad, but KC has looked bad every week since J-ville. Colt deserves the opportunity to start until RG3 gets back.

Re: Titans vs. Skins Positives and Negatives.

Look, I think it's all about the TOs when it comes to KC versus Colt. No matter what else KC is bringing, if he keeps giving it to the other team it does not matter. On Colt's stats: he was playing for the Browns, so it's probably pretty hard to get much in the way of stats there. But we'll see. At this point, we're waiting for RGIII, obviously.

Positives: Breeland, Compton, Garcon and Desean, Reed, Helu (playing well all year, other than that ST f-up), we won a game we should have (after dropping 2 we could have).

Negatives: No sacks (though I thought they got a bit of pressure and several sacks we're erased by questionable penalties), Morris/run game, Orakpo done, Biggers, safeties (as usual), offsides on a punt (WTF!?!?!), Red zone woes.

Still beats losing any day.
