Re: Redskins Cowboys post game

I think if we had a stud OL that could protect our QB maybe Gruden would be a little more willing to get him into the fire. As it stands now protection is limited and our QBs are forced to protect themselves...mostly with their ability to make good quick decisions on where to go with the ball.

I am honestly greatly concerned that at this point Griffin isn't mentally prepared to run a pro offense. I know he's been hurt and the turmoil has been real around him but when we give up what we gave up for him I think we're expecting someone who has the innate abilities to learn and grow quickly. I am also concerned that our coaching staff is focused on fitting a guy in rather than fitting a system to a team's players.

ESPN’s ‘Monday Night Football’ Scores Highest Rating Since 2009 with Redskins-Cowboys - Ratings | TVbytheNumbers.Zap2it.com

wow

ESPN’s Monday Night Football Scores Highest Rating Since 2009 with Redskins-Cowboys
•Season-Best 11.4 Rating and 18.8 Million Viewers Helps ESPN Win the Night
•Seventh Most-Viewed Telecast in Cable History among Households, Ninth among Viewers
•Most-Watched MNF Game on ESPN Deportes in 2014
•Most-Watched MNF Game ever on WatchESPN

Last night’s Monday Night Football game – a Washington Redskins’ 20-17 upset victory over the Dallas Cowboys in overtime – delivered ESPN’s highest-rated and most-viewed MNF telecast since 2009. The game ranked as the top telecast of the night across cable and broadcast in viewers, households and all key male and adult demos, helping ESPN win the night among all networks in those same categories.

The game averaged a season-high 11.4 household US rating; 13,313,000 households; and 18,809,000 viewers (P2+), according to Nielsen. It peaked from 11:30-11:45 p.m. with a 13.6 rating and 22,485,000 viewers.

Redskins-Cowboys is the highest-rated MNF game since the New Orleans Saints-New England Patriots telecast on Nov. 30, 2009 (12.9 household rating) and the most-viewed game since the New Orleans-Atlanta Falcons game on Dec. 27, 2010 (19,137,000 viewers). Overall, the game is now the seventh most-viewed telecast in cable history among households and the ninth most-viewed among viewers (P2+), excluding breaking news. (Note: ESPN MNF and BCS Championship college football games occupy the entire top-10 in both categories. See below.)

In Washington, D.C., the game delivered a 17.8 rating on ESPN and a 12.6 on WDCA-IND, for a combined 30.4 rating in the market. In Dallas, the game delivered a 14.0 rating on ESPN and a 22.6 on WFAA-ABC, for a combined 36.6 rating in the market.

The top 10 metered markets (in addition to those of the competing teams) included: Richmond (24.7), San Antonio (24.5), Norfolk (20.2), Austin (19.3), Las Vegas (18.9), New Orleans (18.0), Baltimore (16.9), San Diego (16.7), Albuquerque (16.1) and Houston (15.9).

Wow, Richmond highest watching outside of DC and Dallas...#buildthatstadiumhere

I would imagine that ratings number doesn't translate into stadium attendance; I could be wrong.

Re: Redskins Cowboys post game

If it were me, I would start Griffin as soon as possible. The only way to know if he's a "bust" really, is to put him out there

From what I'd heard it's not that he doesn't grasp the offense. It's that he's slow-odd to say when applying to RG3-but his timing is just off with the rest of the offense. He's just not in sync.

Mentioned this over the summer, but my feeling is he's a sensitive kid who's ego and feelings got badly bruised when he felt mistreated by his favorite coach growing up.

He needs a confidence boosting game, and I think he'll get his groove back. What better slump buster game than Tampa after the bye week?

Brilliant stuff, someone forward onto Gruden!

I like how Gruden keeps the Vikings guessing about who'll start at QB, but they probably expect Colt.

Also be interesting to see how Zimmer and Gruden face off. My opinion Zimmer was a far better coordinator than Gruden but that doesn't necessarily mean he'll be the better head coach

Breeland all day. I just want them to keep sleeping on him. Hes still a rookie so he doesnt need that pressure, mistakes come with the territory for a young cb. One thing is certain he can MAN UP.

BTW, great for Cobra Kai: Kai Forbath Earns Weekly NFC Honor

Our special teams really showed up in Dallas. Let's hope we get more consistency there.

Maybe this is what Djax was talking to Brandon Carr about during the game: DeSean Jackson Continues Bullying Education

In all seriousness, good to see this. For a guy who had a bit of a reputation coming to DC, he's appeared to be a good teammate and engaged in the community.

Why do we have to only draft Olinemen...im bout spending some ducks at this point. Drafting olineman, not really ballin in that catagory. We got Long, leribus and Moses, bring in legitimates vets on short deals and let these guys fight it out.

I think we go RB in 2nd round this year in draft. Linebacker is another spot we could be looking to draft high as well.

I agree that FA has to factor into the equation. I disagree about drafting a rb in the 2nd round.
Between FA and the draft we go real heavy on oline, and safety/cb. I like Breeland and Amerson alot but we need depth. We also need Some good passrushers in the front 7.
