Most important is RG3 leading scoring drives and converting 3rd downs. Leading the offense in general

Why are people acting like McCoy was throwing deep bombs left and right?

Re: RG3 is back

I understand it was the gameplan against Houston to throw the short stuff.Still,we didnt sign Jackson for the short stuff.RG3 has probably had the most practice time with Jackson,Colt had practically none. The other 2 qb's have had no problem hitting Jackson on longer throws,RG3 has no excuses for not being able to complete some deep balls to Jackson, unless of course his line is not giving him time to throw. But Griff can be indecisive and late on his reads and throws

I remember RG3 hitting Jackson on a deep ball against Jacksonville, which was ruled (erroneously) as a drop.

Now that you bring that up I remember that now also, and that's great
I think you may have misunderstood me about McCoy
I know he wasn't bombs away but when given the opportunity to throw deep to Jackson the balls were completed
I wish I had a way to look up the success rate of Kirk and Colt throwing deep to Jackson,I know that's not the case but it seem like it was 100% either by completion or pass interference
I am fine with the short stuff so long as it's getting us first downs and scoring points, that wasn't the case in the Houston game.
Colt was able to come in with very little practice time and complete the throws to Jackson in crunch time against a superior opponent, does that mean I want Colt to start? No that's not what it means
What it does mean is I expect my first string franchise quarterback to be able to come into the game and complete those passes against a bad team like Minnesota

Re: RG3 is back

Got to go deep to DJax a couple of times. Nobody can cover him and he catches everything.

I live for those bombs to DJax, so don't dink and dunk me, Gruden!

I truly want to see the Skins to put up over 50 points against the Vikes. I just want the Skins to stomp somebody to release the frustration of all the losing we've endured in the last season and a half.

Optimism is starting to creep in to my mind again. I'm fantasizing about three wins in a row then a nice bye week of feeling good about the Skins followed by a ruthless pasting of Tampa Bay for our fourth win in a row. That would be so sweet!

Didn't that happen against Jacksonville?

Re: RG3 is back

I don't care whether we long ball or dink-and-dunk as long as we WIN.

I support a mix of approaches: dink-and-dunk (to help Gryphon with his confidence) plus a few long balls to keep the defense honest.

BTW someone said we didn't sign DJax to catch short passes, when in fact we did. We signed him not just to catch bombs but also to turn short passes into long gainers through YAC.

Agreed. They have a good pass defense / rush, so quick passes / screens initially for a rusty QB coming off an injury would be great. Would love to rely on our running game if it ever gains more than 2 yards a carry for the majority of rushes..

My real fear is that if the rush gets to him & everyone is covered --> that he starts to take off & run again, and get hurt. D.Hall just reinjured himself, and I just hope RG3 can finally keep himself healthy for -- years at a time.

Re: RG3 is back

Griff has played well against min in his previous 2 games. Isn't this 3 straight vs min? That's odd but anyway we should win

Yeah that's what I said earlier but I read today it's actually five straight years against Minnesota

The team has wised up and played his medical situation very close to the vest.

Re: RG3 is back

excited to see griffin on sunday.

i hope my faith is not misplaced. i hope he goes out there and blows out the vikings.

i also hope haslett has learned something from monday night. meriweather plays better in the box. the corners play better challenging the receivers. the defense needs the blitz to get pressure and it needs pressure to be successful.

would also be nice to see the special teams play like they're competent.

Re: RG3 is back

Minnesota has given up a lot of pressure to just 4 man rushes, so I won't expect another blitz happy game. Haz said last week was a little over the top.
