Did anybody go to bed and miss the end of MNF?
I was just talking to my Mom and she said, how much did the Redskins lose by on Monday night? I was like huh... they won! She was surprised and said she was watching it for a while but went to bed and figured they lost.
Did anybody else got to bed and wake up to the news that they pulled out the win? I was just thinking of how much of a shock that would have been. I have to admit that the thought of turning the game off and going to bed flashed through my mind briefly on Monday night, but for some reason I decided to keep torturing myself. |

00:00 is the only cue for me to stop watching a Skins game. but i usually start formulating opinions on the game when they start telling me who produced it.

Re: Did anybody go to bed and miss the end of MNF?
I had a friend of mine who did that. I happen to talk to him the next morning at around 10am and I said, "So what about that game last night?" and he said, "yeah the Skins looked terrible". I said "yeah they did for awhile, but those passes to Moss were beautiful!" He was like "what are you talking about" and when I told him they won, he could not believe it. He turned on ESPN to catch the highlights and was in shock. I will never turn off a game like that again.

Never turn it off, no matter how bad it gets...I was there until the end and always will be.

Re: Did anybody go to bed and miss the end of MNF?
I was watching the game from work (my blood pressure was 210/120), listened to it on the way home (with a little road rage), punished myself by watching it when I got home (praying that someone would break Brunells leg) and was screaming my ass off around midnight with those great catches by Moss. I too didnt sleep much that night, pissed at Brunell and excited that we beat the Cowboys at last. Like the old saying goes, "it aint over til the fat lady sings" and boy did she sing

I was seriously thinking about it, I was stretched out on the coach thinking....................Oh well, and making the usual excuses for the Skins in my head when.....................BANG-Brunell drove the first of two stakes through the Boys bloodsuckin' heart. I hit my head on the ceiling. It was great!!!!!!!!!!1

Re: Did anybody go to bed and miss the end of MNF?
I was out til 11:30, so i didn't settle into watch until 6 minutes left (had a softball doubleheader at 8:15 and 9:15, where the other team had 2 portable TVs, so I got updates). Was falling asleep with about 4 minutes to go, then all hell broke loose. Woke my wife up (who had gone to sleep around 10, with the game on of course) when Taylor made his hit. I shot straight up, and she thought something was wrong...
The Sports Reporters got a few emails of next morning stories. One guy went to bed angry, woke up angry, snapped at his wife. She asked what was wrong, he mentions the Skins, and she said the paper said they won. Guy was 20 minutes late to work trying to catch up on the news. Another guy caught shit from his Cowboys fan neighbor about the game, woke up disappointed, and got in his car to go to work, the Cowboys fan flipped him off. Once he got to work, he ran down for a paper, and found out the good news.

Re: Did anybody go to bed and miss the end of MNF?
Work also comes early in the morning for me, but I managed to stay awake to watch it. I certainly came very close to turning it off...for the simple reason of not wanting to have only a couple hours of sleep, be angry because my team lost, and to struggle through two jobs the next day. However, watching them win made me going through all that - minus being angry - worthwhile.
