oh great. so exactly what i feared.

haslett will spend the next 8 games thinking he can go back to generating a rush with 4 guys, playing our corners off 10 yards every play, and having our lbs drop into zone coverage over the middle.

because of the first 8 games that worked great more often than not.

You can't keep up blitzing that much, sooner or later you get burned. It worked one game, doesn't mean it should be a season long plan.

I agree. You do not play all teams the same. Dallas' top WR is a big powerful receiver that is not a super speed WR. In fact none of dallas' WR's are feared speed guys that would give our physical CB's a problem.
So playing tight man AND BLITZING is easier against a team like Dallas.

Our four man rush couldn't beat a table of bridge players from a Seniors Center.

Generally I agree with you.

But this defense plays different when they challenge wr's and go after the quarterback.

Our defense sucks when we give the qb 4+ seconds to find a receiver.

There won't be many D that can afford to give a competent qb 4 or more seconds......

Yup, which is why pressure on the qb is what normally defines the difference between good/bad defenses.
