Secondly, the Griffin-bashing needs to be put into perspective. Yesterday's game included three false start penalties on receivers, numerous occasions when (once again) the secondary strangely didn't cover receivers, a cornerback trip and fall on what should have been an easy pick-six, a red zone fumble, a bizarre pass drop/flip on a routine reception that led to an interception, two missed field goals, etc. I challenge anyone here to find a loss that was such a complete team effort as this one was. So stop blaming one guy for this loss. And remember this, when we do finally run RGIII out of town, the next guy will be no better, just as the previous 17 QBs have not been any better. I understand the psychological need to focus all frustration and anger on one area (in this case QB), because it offers an easily fixable solution, but we do need to ask ourselves whether our team always sucks because our QBs suck, or whether we can never develop decent QBs because our team is dysfunctional and incompetent.
I agree with everything you wrote except your first sentence. We are this bad.

The Tampa Bay game was just one of many more hopeless days to come here in this gulag archepelago we call Redskins Nation.

Re: Bucs Postgame Thread

Guys, think about this for a second. There have only been three names on the offensive line in the past 15 years that have stood out to me. Jon Jansen, Chris Samuels, and Trent Williams. So, three guys in the last 15 years that you could always count on being pretty solid up front.

That tells me the problem is the offensive line has been largely ignored for the entire time Snyder has owned the team (maybe even before then.) Outside of those three guys, the offensive line hasn't been much to write home about.

This is a team that sucks across the board

for all the talk of talent and skill on this team, it hasn't shown it, and it can't all be put at the feet of one guy (heck the team lost a bunch of games while he was out)

Seriously. Seems to me that the locker room culture is one where "I'm good enough" is an acceptable opinion.

Reading the quotes of the presser, to me it looks like RG3 said "we all suck". He probably could've chosen better words, but whatever.

Outside of D. Jax and Tress Way, no one on this team has played well.

That really frosts me because I'm one of those people who believes that a dominant OL is the heart of any dynastic team.

Ignored how? You mean they're drafting the wrong linemen?

I agree with skinsguy. After drafting Jansen #2 in 1999 and Samuels #1 in 2000, Trent Williams is the ONLY offensive lineman drafted in rounds one or two since. In 14 years. Think about that.

Not like we were stocking up on OL in the first two rounds before that though

And I will say, the hogs were not a group of first round draft picks when bobby Beathard brought them to Washington. But, he was Bobby freakin' Beathard. The man was legend at finding those great late rounders and free agents. So I understand great offensive linemen aren't always in the first or even second rounds, but the 'skins talent evaluators have to be good enough to recognize where and when to find them. And they have not been successful at those mid to late rounders in terms of the offensive line.

It also has something to do with coaching as well. Some coaches can "coach 'em up" and turn an average linemen into a solid guy, but I haven't seen that so far in recent years. Buges - I thought he did OK with what he had here at last.

Beathard probably had as many garbage picks as gems. But he gave himself many opportunities to find those gems, which maybe is the key
