Griff has the rest of the season. If he continues to play the way he is playing he needs to be gone. He is showing no sign of getting it or being capable of eventually getting it. It is alarming. Losing more games because of his ineptitude at QB is not going to bring our picks back. Need to cut our losses if he does not show the ability to catch on. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: 49ers Postgame Thread
Did not see Thomas play but was wondering how he did.
Lots of good things. Two bad things - OLine's pass blocking, RGIII. O-Line's run blocking was okay but a lot of the yards Morris got were yards he created. The passing game is simply horrible right now - and it's not b/c of play design or lack of skill by the WR's. Sure, there have been some drops but receivers are open and, significantly more often than not, catches are made when the ball is in the vicinity. Can't do elite plays with a QB & O-Line that can't do basic sh**. This is going to be a long five games. If Griffin does not produce or show significant improvement, we will be looking for a QB in the offseason. Trade him to a team that will let him sit and improve and hope to get a 3rd or 4th for him. <sigh> So, what would be looking at had we just held our ground, drafted Tanehill (and used the other three picks for BPA's)? <double sigh>

Re: 49ers Postgame Thread
It must be obvious by now even to his staunchest supporters that RGIII just can't play QB in this league.
He shouldn't even suit up next week.

RG3 was rookie of the year and an all pro. Let RG3 be RG3 and he is a good player but probably won't last long. The problem we have is we are trying to make him Peyton Manning or Brady. He is not a pocket QB. I do agree that he should sit at this point. he clearly isn't Grudens guy. I feel JG is running him out of town so he can go with his own guy and that is disappointing. |

It will be interesting to see if Kyle and RG3 show up in Oakland or Tennessee two years as a packaged deal. RG3 will be fully healed and rested. probably humbled too. Kyle is in line for a HC job with what he has helped accomplish in Cleveland. |

Re: 49ers Postgame Thread
I'm a little more positive than some of you guys. Overall we competed well against a tough team on the road.
Positives: Keenan Robinson! After being held back by injuries early in his career, he has proven to be worth keeping. Entire D: our sucky secondary was badly depleted and still we held a decent offense to 17 points Negatives: Amerson, shame on you Can't do epic things with a basic quarterback

Re: 49ers Postgame Thread
When you have to dumb down your passing game you got a QB problem.
Poor RG3, no one is chanting R G 3! R G 3! anymore.

Re: 49ers Postgame Thread
My thinking is you give RGIII two more starts--Indy and the Rams. If he shows nothing by half 1 of the rams, he's pulled for Colt.
I don't see the great point of getting rid of Allen or Gruden now. Allen drafted RGIII, but that wasn't a crazy move, even with the trade, IMO. And Shanny certainly signed off on it, no doubt. Lots throughout the league certainly thought RGIII could make the transition, though the thought was it might take some time. He's not the first high pick QB to fail in the NFL! Shitty that we had to trade all that for him, no doubt. But at the time, were you really against it? Think back. RGIII looks like he can't do it. But that does not mean we therefore have an o-line! Our tackles couldn't even slow the niners down at times. It's not that RGIII would be good with an o-line. It's worse: we don't have a qb AND we don't have an o-line, at least when it comes to passing. Which is kinda important in this league. Let Allen try to pick up the pieces--bring in better player assessment folks, sure, but I don't see a better GM available for us in the near future. Stick with Gruden: the offense is sound, conceptually and I think he's got the right attitude and drive. And, again, who's out there to save the day right now? I don't see anyone better wanting to step in here. Being a fan of this team is like getting kicked in the balls over and over again. I mean, our special teams captain hurt himself DOWNING A PUNT. WTF??? Oy.
