I honestly think first round picks aren't the way to build a team...it is the later rounds.

I also think they are the most overrated part of building a team. Trade them all for 2s,3s and 4s.....it is a crap shoot anyway so the more we bring in the better chance we have of finding the ones that are tough enough and willing to buy in.

from 1970 - 1990 the redskins used only 3 first round picks

now they were good ones (Monk, Green and May), but the team was built on lower picks, and UFAs.

It was the role players that made those teams - Wonsley, Cronan, Orr, and Warren...etc

again, across the golden age of our franchise ... 3 first round picks.

I would also say that was before free agency and the picks were worth more.
