For defense

There are many reasons why the defensive results seem to be worse than the yardage numbers would indicate but opponents are doing a lot of damage passing on third down. Opposing quarterbacks have completed 72 percent of their third-down passes (59 for 82) against Washington for an average of 8.5 yards per attempt and a passer rating of 110. The NFL average is 60 percent completions on third down with an average of 7.7 yards per attempt and a passer rating of 92.3.
