Michael Vick in Philly: Backup turned starter. Was not benched for poor performance, benched for injury reasons...

Vick in NY: Signed as backup - started eventually, got injured....
What about Jason Campbell?
Patrick Ramsey
Gus Frerotte
all benched here and started elsewhere just to get benched.
Hell, campbell did the trifecta and did it for 3 teams!

Those injury excuses you make for Vick, are you making them for RG3?

How many teams have 3 different coaches in 3 years?

You can blame RG3 for as much as you want but this team is a shit show.
All of our QBs have been benched.
Most of our players are having some of the worst seasons in their careers.
Guys are constantly making the same mistakes.

Someone needs to figure out who is coachable and who needs to get cut.
Someone needs to figure out who is going to take responsibility for coaching those players.

Re: RG3 and Gruden?

I for some reason cannot see RGIII getting traded or released.

Fact is guy only played 5 or 6 games this season to say he gets coaches fired would be stretching it. One of those games he didn't even fully play. Instead of a coach that focuses on QB play or says they do how bout one thats gonna bring the beef on the offensive line? and a defensive coordinator that is as close to gregg williams as we can get without offering shit loads of money to make him our head coach like WE SHOULD OF after Joe Gibbs 2.0. We need someone on defense thats like that dude in Any Given Sunday you're afraid the guy is gonna suit up and go after you himself. If we don't revamp that line though Nobody not Robert, not Colt, Kirk, Tom Brady, Jameis Winston, whoever is gonna be successful.

Better yet why not give both of them one more year..this way you don't have to deal with all the contract BS.

Re: RG3 and Gruden?

If Gruden is to survive, he needs a DC like Todd Bowles or Rod Marinelli. Both of this guys have proven to do more with less.

Re: RG3 and Gruden?

Dallas' defense is still horrible, as I've been saying all season. Let's go get someone legit. Bowles, for instance...

Didn't he sign an extension earlier this year?

<sigh> Yep, through 2017.

Okay, someone like Bowles then. I want a guy with a proven track record of good defenses. Not someone like Haslett who's never had a lot of success.

Re: RG3 and Gruden?

I have a few thoughts.

1) The reason RG III had to be taken out was not his poor play, but his throwing his teammates under the bus after a loss and (as before), not taking enough responsibility for the loss. A quarterback has to be able to say he screwed up sometimes (even if he didn't) to show he has his teammates' back.

2) All of our QBs have regressed behind this line. RG3 hasn't got his mechanics back since his injury and seems to be playing scared. Cousins started out well, but it was obvious his confidence eventually disintegrated. Colt McCoy also seems to be undergoing the same trend. I have to think this may be due to the offensive line, as I can't imagine we would have the bad luck to have 3 QBs with the same case of nerves with a semi-passable line. I'd say we've seen flashes of talent from at least 2 of the QBs. If we could hold onto them and focus on getting OL help, we may find that at least one of them works well behind a (reasonable) offensive line.

Re: RG3 and Gruden?

Keep Gruden...he's only a rookie HC.....trade RG3 for whatever he's worth...if Allen stays as GM he needs to take a studious look at the roster and upgrade what needs to be upgraded....

Re: RG3 and Gruden?

Dallas is winning because of romo Dez and Murray not because of their defense. It's still ranked like 23 or something. Skins need a complete rebuild. What's the worst that's gonna happen?? We already suck ass anyway so it doesn't matter.

Dallas is winning because of their offensive line - period. Alfred Morris would probably be approaching a 1500 yard season behind that line with the offensive weapons we have.

Here's Dallas' investment on their o-line:

Tyron Smith LT; 2011 1st round pick (#9)
Ronald Leary LG; 2012 Undrafted FA
Travis Frederick C; 2013 1st round pick (#31)
Zack Martin* RG; 2014 1st round pick (#16)
Doug Free RT; 2007 4th round pick (#122)

*Jerry Jones wanted to draft Manziel, instead his people convinced him not to and they drafted Martin instead.

Dan Snyder would have ignored his people and drafted Manzel.

Re: RG3 and Gruden?

Continuing the revolving door at HC is just plain stupid but stupid seems to be the trademark of this organization. If anything needs gutted its the players. The only player the Skins should even consider a must keep is Kerrigan the rest of these guys are no account bums.
