Exclusive Combine Q&A: Scot McCloughan
This makes me very happy... "What I’m trying to change is our kind of way that we’re not looking for the height, weight or speed guys, we’re looking for football players. We want guys who are consistent, guys who are passionate, very competitive, tough and smart. It’s not always the best athletes that way, but I want them to realize, just because a guy can’t run a 4.4 40-yard [dash], doesn’t mean he can’t play wide receiver or running back. All the sudden you have an offensive lineman who measures 6’2 1/2” when the league average is 6’4”, I could care less about that. Let me know about a football player and we’ll go from there because that’s what’s going to help me on Sundays." ...always thought this was the way to acquire players.

If I can get through this draft without a single pick making me think "WTF, why'd they pick him?" I'll be happy.
It's been about XX? years since we had an entire draft I enjoyed. Edit: Thought I was in the draft thread, my bad guys.

Re: All things off season 2015.
That is why the scouting combine numbers should not be taken that seriously. It is a factor but it should not sway our FO to draft one player over another.
Emmit Smith and Jerry Rice come to mind, as they dropped out of the top 15 of their draft class because of slower than expected 40 times at the Combine. Smith ran a 4.8 in the 40 at the combine. |

It is only a fine and not a suspension so I guess he still gets to play. That said, you are right, he's a dumb fuck.
