Re: All things off season 2015.
The NFL is nervous as hell about this Chris Borland retirement. This could become a scary trend for the NFL. As a huge fan of football it makes me nervous. Not sure how much resources the NFL actually puts into taking care of retired players and brain injury research, but they might want to ramp up the spending quite a bit even if they are already spending a pretty penny.

Re: All things off season 2015.
Supposedly Allen is the main reason the show was cancelled, not Snyder.
ESPN radio suddenly halts ‘The Man Cave’, and some blame NFL’s Redskins - The Washington Post Anyway, I'm not sure why Reid was even considered for a spot in the first place. |

With this petty and vindictive behavior Bruce Allen once again makes himself, and our organization by extension, into a joke. Bruce Allen should not be the Presidential face of our franchise.

Right, because if he wasn't around this stuff wouldn't happen. I'm sure he did this all on his own and Snyder had no clue or input. |

Re: All things off season 2015.
There are other shows on Snyder's network that criticize the Skins that are not getting shut down. Only the one hosted by a guy who called for Bruce's job is getting shut down.
Of course Bruce had to have Snyder's blessing - it's not Bruce's network after all. But this seems like a pretty cut-and-dried case of vindictively silencing critics to me.

Re: All things off season 2015.
Everybody should know that Dan Snyder is a first class douche bag who's also a petty, insincere brat with self-esteem issues. I like to call it the little man syndrome.
Go back to John Feinstein's account of running into Snyder in a restaurant and Danny boy lost his shit there because he couldn't stand the fact people criticize him. FeinsteinOnTheBrink: Happy talk in Washington Post today, we'll see if things change; Dan Snyder story Quote:
Yes it was fucking Dan that canned J-Reid's show and you can bet that insecure prick was gloating the whole day over it as well.

Re: All things off season 2015.
Reid is an A-1 ass as far as I'm concerned. Might be a great guy, but he has for way too long upheld the WashPost/SallyJ code of Redskins writing ethics. "All the hate fit to print". If this managed to get him out of the Post even partially, and let that paper get back to reporting for the fans not for their butthurt reporters, than bravo Bruce, Bravo.

That does not mean that Reid deserves such vindictive retribution, though. What happened to Reid was deeply unfair. If every reporter who criticized a team lost their job like Reid did, ESPN and NFLN would have to shut down because there'd be no one left to report. Bruce took the low road in a petty, immature, and brattish way. Team Presidents need to be better role models than taking the low road like that.

Wasn't Reid the one tangling with players on Twitter this past season? Yeah kind of an asshole if you ask me.

Re: All things off season 2015.
I wonder if maybe Sapienza was told by Snyder as soon as this show started coming together(well over a month ago) that Reid wasn't an option and Sapienza either had to find a replacement or cancel the show altogether? Sapienza "agrees" just to get Snyder off his back (supposedly the former was absolutely behind the new show and hosts), then moves on with his original plans. Few days ago as the debut date gets close, Snyder/Allen looks into the situation again to see how Sapienza's resolved it and find out Reid and The Man Cave are still in the station's plans. Of course they pull the plug right away, and Sapienza resigns instead of taking the inevitable firing from a very pissed off Danny Boy. Maybe I'm overthinking and I know I'm assuming a lot, but this fits in with everything I've heard about the situation.
I have a very hard time believing that Snyder and Allen knew about the show all along and waited until the last second to ax it just to damage Reid, and an equally hard time believing that they only found about it a few days ago. |

Re: All things off season 2015.
they own the station, they can put on whatever they want. if you don't like it, don't listen. I don't know why anyone would think a radio station owner shouldn't be allowed to control what is and isn't put on air... I must have missed the oligarchy elections again.
the point that it might be vindictive or the LDS can be/do d-bag things is fair, but J reid is a cowboys fan that did a horrible job covering the skins beat and somehow got paid for it (like JLC). the redskins don't owe him future employment or earnings. they just don't. |
