Bumping this comment from last week. If we go with our three headed QB rotation next year, really hope we can focus on getting some protection for our QBs. Our QB/OL are part of problem but I'm just tired of watching the TE/RB completely flail on blocks. Every QB gets better w good protection.

There's tons of time left to fix things, but Gruden's talk about going with Chris Thompson as our 3rd down RB -- will kill our protection. Niles/Reed just can't pass protect. And relying on Moses coming back magically from a Lisfranc - is risky.

Ideal scenario would be to draft OL in middle rounds to develop, bring in 1-2 year FA vet RT to help Moses, and draft or get FA blocking TE/RB somewhere. Plenty of time for these moves.

Totally agree.

Early on SM said part of his GM philosophy was to identify his type of players and sign them earlier and cheaper before they hit free agency.

The signing of Paul signals that SM likes what he sees on tape and sees potential.

Paul did a really good job blocking down field last season but struggled severely blocking off the line of scrimmage. As a converted wide receiver, he will improve in pass protection with more time.

All that being said, a true dual threat TE would be awesome. Jay's offense flourished with that type of package in Cincy.

I dont necessarily agree with him I just get (I think I do anyway) what hes saying.
There were some linemen, we didnt sign them....
And as I pointed out, the roster isnt set yet, nor have we drafted.
Hes a QB anyway, his priorities should be obvious.

Not sure which QB Brunell wanted us to sign. Did he want us to sign Matt Moore? Or bring back JC? There was no one on the open market worth signing.

Did Mark Brunell say they needed to get a QB?

He talked about how we didn't sign anyone along the OL or sign a vet QB to back up/help RG.

Don't see how that translates to an "Insanity"

Re: All things off season 2015.

The RTs that were available decided not to come here at the price the redskins offered. if they gave one of them 8-10M a year, i bet we'd be on the insanity list for a different reason.

I just don't know what exactly he expected us to do; summon a better OL through sorcery i guess. The options in FA were minimal and gone fast. the only thing we can reasonably do is get a better blocking TE and RB. if we wanted to be unreasonable, we could have paid that ridiculous contract to TE Clay or grabbed crabtree to be our new #3 WR, but again, I think most people would be pretty upset if we did that.
