First Time Fatherhood

Hey guys!

I was told that some of you have been asking about the progress of my son, so I wanted to give you an update.

We're still at the same hospital. Tony had gotten sick a few weeks ago and had to go on isolation. It's not a serious sickness - it's the rhino virus. But, anytime the babies have some sort of sickness, they place them on isolation to keep them from getting sicker. So, since he's been sick, his transfer to Duke to get his surgery has been placed on hold. However, the cardiologist does plan to reevaluate him at the beginning of next week, do another echo, and run some other tests.

We're thinking that the doctors felt he was ready for his procedure a few weeks ago, because his feedings started declining. However, that was around the time when he had gotten the rhino virus, so the doctors are now thinking, maybe, the rhino virus might had caused the decrease in his feeding and not his heart issues. Since Tony has been on isolation, he has actually been having an increase in his feedings - which is why the cardiologist is going to reevaluate him next week.

One thing I DO know is that he IS going to be transferred to Duke for the heart procedure. He won't go home before hand. So, right now, it's just getting him well enough to get transferred.
