lol ... true, true. Based on my 40+ years of fandom and my complete powerlessness to affect any change, I am reluctantly with the wait and see crowd at this point. My burgundy colored glasses, however, have become pretty faded over the last few years. Call me jaded, but the dysfunction and past mismanagement of this team has just beaten me down.

As in the past, I truly hope that assumptions of the apocalypse are sorely misplaced. Given the many red flags (BA Tampa connection, Barry's poor performance in Detroit - even if many years ago - and his lack of DC experience since, and the many experienced DC's with solid resumes available), however, it is hard for me to be excited about the hire. It seems to me that, when I have hoped folks were wrong to assume the worst, the prophetic vision of the Cassandras was recognized only after things had gone to hell.

At this point in my fandom, why should I expect folks are wrong to assume the worst this time from this team with this hire? Anyone? ... Anyone?
