San Fran is being run by clowns. First off, you dont let a top 5 HC leave because you cant find a happy medium. Fangio has done an excellent job especially the the last 2 years dealing with injuries and suspensions to navigate a defense that quite frankly kept them in most games where they should have been blown out.

Look at that wildly overrated San Fran offense and coach (Roman)...the reason San Fran has had success the last 5 year is the way the defense has played. Special teams has been decent as well.

I think from a resume perspective: Fangio, Jim Schartz and Wade Phillips should the be choices.

You are assuming they want to come here.

I'm thinking at least 2 of the 3 would have solid interest. I think Bruce and Scot mcc appeal to folks around the league. I'm sure the concern is working for a dipshit owner.

Here you go from AS:

Late entry into Redskins' defensive coordinator consideration is 49ers DC Vic Fangio, who's not returning to SF.

This. Jed York is probably a little in over his head. Anyone remember what the 49ers were like before Harbaugh got there? Mike Singletary and Mike Nolan? They were changing coordinators every year. I think they're going to really regret letting him walk.
