Scherzer guarantees himself money for 14 years, likely beyond the end of his career and the Nats maintain salary moderation n the short term. In 8 years that 15 won't be as much given the current growth trend for the sport and the Nats will likely have increased revenues because of the their TV contract dispute.

you think Max Scherzer is worth that amount? He made statments previously he was all about the money...30 years old. His last 2 post season starts have been aweful.

210 million, the largest contract to a right handed starter?

What about Strasberg and Zimmerman? Let them walk or trade?
