If we were gonna get one of their corners I would rather have Chris Culliver, as long as he isn't guarding Jacoby Jones or referencing players who are gay he is a pretty decent corner

No big loss there. The guy could run but was invisible as a blocker. Man I wish we'd pick up someone. Unless Redd jr. improves up to second string.

Between Culliver and Cox, I'd give Culliver the slight edge. Culliver has some off field baggage.

San Francisco Cornerbacks: Perrish Cox or Chris Culliver?

Fast forward to 2014, and Cox is fourth on the depth chart behind starters Culliver and Brock, and Ward who played in the slot. After Brock went down with turf toe, it moved Cox into the starting lineup.

Cox then proceeded to play at a Pro Bowl level for the first half of the season. He played so well that many fans were calling for Culliver to be benched instead of Cox when Brock returned from injury.

Cox fell off towards the end of the season, but he played well enough that we’re even having this conversation about whether we should keep him or Culliver.

What history tells us is that Cox was practically a journeyman corner that has had one good half of a season in his career, while Culliver has always been considered better than both Cox and Brock by the coaches. Culliver’s absence opened up the opportunities for both Cox and Brock.

This is a random 49er website, but gives a history for Cox, and as described -- seems like a one-year wonder with a speckled off-field past. Would be okay with a protected incentivized contract, but carries some risk.

Clayton is just being brainless. He claims that the Bradford trade takes away all the Eagles trade-up ammo. But:

1) Bradford is part of the ammo!
2) The #2 pick the Eagles surrender is for NEXT year.
3) The Eagles still have the #20 pick and other picks besides.
4) The Eagles could also add players in a trade with, say, the Titans, like the Jets did to move up and take Sanchize.

I wouldn't pass on him either. Griffin hasn't proven to stay healthy yet. Even though I believe in him and I do think he has a good yr in 2015 I'd still take marcus. Also wonder how realistic we r at getting browner?

I would pass on him, and Browner scheduled to visit us after he leaves New Orleans
