Re: Who should we go for in Free Agency?
Stefan Wisniewski is a good player who can play either C or G. I thought he'd be signed by now. He's scheduled to visit Seattle which just lost their starting C, Max Unger, in a trade.

We went into the draft last year with around 2Mill. Right now after signing JJ (no Lotus, not that JJ), we are somewhere between 11 and 14Million. The main difference is that we will either have 1 or 2 (if some trade scenarios work out) 1st round picks. We are nowhere near out of cap. And if we were, you would see a Kerrigan restructure in a heartbeat. |

Getting the feeling that MLB is less of an issue in the eyes of the FO than it is on this board.

it's that simple. Heck the Chiefs on Overthecap.com are at -587K. There are 11 teams that have less cap space at this moment then we do. BUT, with a stroke of a pen (restructuring/resigning Kerrigan) we gain another 6million which would leave only 12 teams with more cap space. That's before a single cut would have to happen. BUT cuts will happen. Tracy Porter will be cut, that's +2M and that puts us up to 9th highest cap space approximately. Bottomline: You can't cry no money based on future expenses, while ignoring future savings. We have a middle of the pack cap number now, and have made several solid budget wise moves. |

Re: Who should we go for in Free Agency?
And just to flesh out the cap numbers (from Overthecap), rounded to the closest Million
The Skins have 11M as do the Colts and Panthers Cardinals are at 9M(and are trying to get Adrian Peterson) as are the Ravens Steelers and Texans are at 8M Eagles are at 7M Cowboys, Lions are at 6M Giants are at 4M Saints are at 3M (after truly going through cap hell to clear space) and the Chiefs are at 0M You may have noticed we have the MOST cap space in our division, by about 4Million. This is not your VC Redskins. |

Re: Who should we go for in Free Agency?
great signing. we got a guy with upside and very good ST play instead of any one of a list of known bad players. 2M/per is peanuts too if he's anywhere near a solid starter, especially since some good ST players get near that just for running kick coverage.

Cant fix everything in one offseason so get some base parts in place, then can add more in future years to continue going in the right direction. |
