Get better O-Linemen. Improve our tight ends. Get backs that can block. Obviously the roster isnt set yet but its not hard to figure out what he means.

No, it isn't. He means "I'm pissed off at the Skins because they didn't keep me as their starting QB for another five years and pay me a lot of money even though I was so far over the hill that I couldn't see it anymore. So, take that, Dan Snyder!".

we can still get a back that can block, but i don't think you'd be happy if we spent 4M+ on a new running back either. it'd be silly. |

There's tons of time left to fix things, but Gruden's talk about going with Chris Thompson as our 3rd down RB -- will kill our protection. Niles/Reed just can't pass protect. And relying on Moses coming back magically from a Lisfranc - is risky. Ideal scenario would be to draft OL in middle rounds to develop, bring in 1-2 year FA vet RT to help Moses, and draft or get FA blocking TE/RB somewhere. Plenty of time for these moves. |

Early on SM said part of his GM philosophy was to identify his type of players and sign them earlier and cheaper before they hit free agency. The signing of Paul signals that SM likes what he sees on tape and sees potential. Paul did a really good job blocking down field last season but struggled severely blocking off the line of scrimmage. As a converted wide receiver, he will improve in pass protection with more time. All that being said, a true dual threat TE would be awesome. Jay's offense flourished with that type of package in Cincy. |
