The injury risk is so minimal that it's really not even a risk. The only way that money becomes guaranteed is if Griffin has an injury severe enough that it keeps him out all of the 2016 season. What are the chances?

He can be cut any time.

Even if he had as severe a knee injury as before, it wouldn't keep him out long enough to guarantee the money.
