If you use last year's #5 as a measuring stick, it was Dallas' Newman a CB. Its called a 33.4 mil dollar, 7 year deal. the signing bonus is 13mil of that paid out over the 1st 2 years. So that leaves 20.4 over 7 year, but heres the kicker. The 7th year is 15 mil of the contract. So his base salary is about a mil per year. I can only assume that the signing bonus counts vs the regurlar cap but not the rookie cap, since Dallas' rookie cap was 4 mil.
This what I dont understand wtf is he thinking by signing a 33.4 7 year deal, you know dallas anit paying anybody 15 mill in one year, so it is really a 18.4 mil, 6 year deal right? I mean why even bother sticking that last year on? So you can figure on Sean Taylor geting 14-15 mil bonus again over 2-3 years. I am guessing a deal thats about 37 mil over 7 years that is back loaded where in 5 years we'll be asking for renegotiation. Sound about right? |
