Re: SI's Banks: "The Worst 3-0 Team Ever"

I just think it's funny that prior to the game yesterday, it was our biggest test. And it was, Seattle is a legit playoff contender with a very good offense and a quality defense. We win the game and as soon as it's over the so called experts are reaching for every excuse in the book as to why the Skins won.

Is it that hard for the mediots to admit that just maybe, just maybe the Skins are an improved team??

Can they even acknowledge that this was a team that lost it's share of close affairs last year, and with an even average offense was a team that could have won 10 games?

Is it that hard to imagine the Skins winning 8, 9 or even 10 this year??

Well I guess so if you're Dr. Z who predicted 4 wins the entire year, hey we're 3/4 of the way there!

I guess according to the Z man, we're now poised to lose, what, 13 of the next 14 games. Good call doctor Z!

Matty,

Did you also notice that on espn.com that the teaser was "Seattle's missed FG allows Redskins to win in OT"

When the Eagles came back, it wasn't, "Chiefs collapse allows Eagles to come back"

It was basically, "McNabb is God. Nothing is more courageous than playing with his condition."

Great point, they're basically saying Seattle lost the game rather than the Redskins won it.

I'm sure when we beat Denver there will be more of the same. I'm just wondering how long it will take before the experts say hey, you know these Redskins aren't half bad!

It should have read something like, "Redskins dodge bullet after dominating most of game to win in OT."

Another thing, and this was on another thread, can't remember which one.....but next week against Denver is supposedly our biggest test of the season.

Re: SI's Banks: "The Worst 3-0 Team Ever"

3-0 is 3-0 and in the NFL it doesn't matter how the hell you get there. We can be the worst whatever team as far as I am concerned because all that means is we're winning.

12th man brings up a real qulaity point. The journalists can't possibly be as versed on the teams as we are about the Skins and the way many fans are of their team. We spend countless hours dicussing, analyzing and evaluating our team. We can see improvement where most journalists just see the negative because we can compare what has been done to what we're doing. When all they get is edited video packages and regurgitated junk from other new sources they can't possibly understand a team's true weaknesses and strengths. They can see we have a weak pass rush right now but have they done the homework to understand that we didn't have a great pass rush last year when we didn't blitz? Most don't because they don't have time. Plus they are trying to break everything down into discussions that fans who are even less versed than they are can understand and care about.

Plus, what have done in terms of our record in the last 5 years to warrant any respect from sports writers. If we light it up this year, the sportswriters would probably write differently about us in their game previews next year.

At least this Banks clown is being upfront that he doesn't think they are good. Unlike fat Lenny P who ignores the redskins existence when they win. Just wait until the skins drop a game or two though then you will see that Lenny P skins bash article posted that same night.

Re: SI's Banks: "The Worst 3-0 Team Ever"

we are what we are.we are 3-0,with a very good defense, and an offense that does just enough to win.i think the longer the season goes, the more trust coach gibbs gets gets in his offense, the more big plays we will see on offense.even in our super bowl years i dont recall us having a dominating defense like we have today.those past defenses lived on big plays.anyone who takes the so called experts seriously should have their head examined because most of them before the season picked either the lions, cardinals or vikings as the sleeper of the nfc this year so all i have to say is 3-0 and hail to the redskins!
