We are all fans, we all simply want to see our team win football games. For many or maybe even most fans, at this point seeing Griffin qb'ing this team means seeing our team lose and/or look inept in the process. That's depressing.

For real. Why is this perception out there that we all were kicking back riding the RG-3 train into Superbowl World and than suddenly at halftime of the Detroit game we all turned on him and panicked? What the what? This doubt and fear that we mortgaged our future on Griff has been building for two years!

I agree, but to say the season is lost on less than a half of play is a teeny bit premature. The Ravens game will reveal a lot. IF RGIII doesn't have some sort of rebound this game and next, then I will resort to the doom saying. I am trying to remain upbeat, as I usually was the first to be a doom and gloom guy about the franchise starting with the Shanny/McNabb debacle.

I agree Skins, but I want to see Robert play out preseason before we throw in the towel on the season. If there indeed isn't any improvement with him at all then yeah the season is probably going to be a bummer. It is just sort of sad that we have gotten to this sorry state of affairs as fans. I feel sorry for the season ticket holders, that actually pay top dollar to see this crap in person. Yeah the offense seems more fluid and relaxed with Kirk and Colt in there, but they are not starting material. If Kirk was, he would have been traded last season. Nobody bit on him, especially after he came back down to earth with all of his INTs.

I think football is real simple for RG3. He doesn't understand the intangible things he needs to do to be successful.
He sees things in binary, There is pressure or there isn't pressure.
WR is open or WR isn't open.
He doesn't understand how to help a WR get open by manipulating the safety and he doesn't understand how he can give himself more time in the pocket by sliding away from pressure.

I don't understand why Gruden is going to spend 2 years trying to convert him to a conventional QB.
Everything Gruden does is conventional without any creativity or talent. He is just a good ole boy with lots of friends.

I will go as far as saying WITH RGlll behind center we might lose every game…with Cousins we could win 9 games..IF RGlll could go back to his rookie year BEFORE injuries and have someone like Shanny who understood Robert the sky was the limit! we don't have the coach..we have post injury RGlll …that equals total failure on many levels..I can't see Gruden surviving this mess.. all this after 2 pre season games you say..heck no this is after watching him since his rookie year continue to struggle and in many cases he has gotten worse..look at Tiger Woods..what happened there?? loss of confidence,changing coaches..bad luck etc..its the same thing ..I hope RGlll has a fantastic game at ravens ..but at this point he has to show he can at least be average at the position week after week..I don't think any redskin fans are looking for pro bowl type of play from him..how about just being good enough to separate himself from 2 other so so BACKUPS.. he has not yet played his way into the starting position..all any of us can do is be fans and watch it all unfold..one thing about being a skins fan it aint never boring!!

If they would just cut bait with Griffin and hand the keys to the car to Kirk, we would all see we have our franchise QB. Only good thing about playing Griff all year is we will propably have the #1 pick come next April.

I think Kirk is def more capable of running our O at this point and who knows maybe with steady playing time and the backing of the coaching staff/brass/and his teammates he could be our guy for the future, but it is hard to overlook his int's last year. Man some of them were just bad.

The guy is a backup at best. He is not the long term solution. If he was we probably wouldn't be having this debate/discussion. Kirk needs to have a lot of progression himself in order to be a true starter. He is good for 2-3 game spurts, but I don't think he is ready to handle a full season as a starter, as last season showed.

I think we need to hold the brakes on calling KC a franchise QB. And I like KC, but he has a long way to go. I like what he's done so far this pre season. He's really running the offense well. But I want to see how he responds after a few bad plays.

I'm getting to the point where the organization needs to move on from the Griffin circus. It's just not worth it anymore. It seems like an on going saga with him and a clean break for both sides might be what's needed.

The only reason it is a circus is they awarded RGIII the starters job in February with out a true training camp competition. The right thing of awarding it in week 3 or 4 of preseason after giving both RGIII and KC a look with starters and determining who is playing better. Instead we are forced a square peg in a round whole and it is obvious to everyone. The lack of a true competition and letting the better player earn the position is creating dysfunctional situation.

I totally agree with you. As far as I'm concern Robert nor Kirk has done anything to solidify themselves as the starter. That is why it should have been an open competion. The offense runs smoother with Kirk. If we want a true culture change we need to start putting the team needs in front of one player. And giving Robert the starting job with any completion isn't putting the team and the organization first.

Yes sir. I think before winning can happen here again on a regular basis, the full culture change needs to happen. We got half of it, a real GM...Finally!
Now we need Snyder to stop getting involved in the on field decisions. Let the coaches and GM handle that.
This RGIII situation of insisting he be the starter reminds of another similar redskins situation handled better in 1981 and that is Mark May.
Mark Mark our 1981 first round pick, #20 overall and Outland trophy winning, consensus 1st team All American can't miss guy. In camp Bugel and Gibbs notice he was a great run blocker but could not handle NFL speed rushers and was not looking good. So they benched him. But at the same time undrafted Free agents Joe Jacoby and Jeff Bostic get the start as well as 3rd rounder Russ Grimm and 11th round draft pick George Stark.
Mark May did not earn a starting position until 1982 and that was at guard. To cover up his deficiency of pass protection on the outside that he later overcame. JKC never got involved and the rest is history.
I think with Snyder and others insisting on starting a guy with out a competition in camp deflated the entire lockeroom.
Even if hypothetically you start KC now because he is more prepared for a Pro system then later switch to RGIII once he learns, like Mark May did, that would be fine.

I just saw this quote: "According to Jason Reid of ESPN, Griffin sidestepping his own responsibility for making the line look worse than it played is exactly the kind of thing that causes him problems in the locker room. Reid wrote on Twitter after Griffin’s press conference that coaches say “several” offensive linemen dislike Griffin."

Three reactions. One, if accurate, it is deeply troubling and undermines what hope I have of RGIII getting things back on track. I hope it isn't true. Two, if coaches are sharing that with the media, they should be fired. You can't do that as it makes for a toxic environment. Three, it shows how insane the media has been - anonymous sources with incendiary quotes. Honestly, when I see crap like that, I wonder how anyone operating under that kind of scrutiny can be expected to be successful. Oh, and I am reminded that anonymity is the height of cowardice.

I hope RGIII shines and then tells Reid to F off.
