Pass rusher is a position where you can never have too much depth. See New York Giants circa 2007 and 2011.
I would at the very least perform due diligence. How many games is he likely to miss due to pending suspension? How was he as a teammate - not what the papers say but what his teammates say. Keep in mind that Desean was publicly reported to be a bad teammate, but the locker room in Philly actually loved him and he performed). And most importantly, what would be his contract demands? There is definitely a scenario where the value equation shifts in the team's favor. It's irresponsible not to explore it.

Pass, the team is trying to add character not head cases. If found guilty of the 2013 belt incident he could be suspended 6 games.
