Hard knocks 2015 texans

The episode definitely showed the Texans in a more favorable light during the joint practices (to be expected of course), doesn't really match up with reality from what I've read.

You mean the shots of Watt abusing Scherff and making him look like Polumbus? And then making fun of him for being a rookie? Or Hopkins breaking Hall's ankles and giving him an injury? Hopkins comes off as a total asshole. Not a fan of that guy at all.

They did show Jones running over the Texans rookie corner, forgot his name. He's got a hot sister.

Watt abuses everyone, and cherry picking plays can make any team look good. They didn't show the battles that Scherrf won against him of course.

Thats what I have been thinking. People are freaking out over a rookie because he got beat by JJ Watt and Ryan Kerrigan. Even pro bowlers have gotten beat by those 2. Watt is clearly the best DL in the game today imo. Him beating someone isnt news anymore, its more or less a basic reality. JJ Watt is going to beat OL quite frequently, as in almost every play.

This isnt an attempt to justify the pick, but its not the end of the world either. Whether Scherff was a good pick or not is going to be tied to how good he becomes compared to how good Leonard Williams becomes, not whether JJ Watt can beat him in his first ever training camp.

On at least one play, Scherff had Watt on his ass. It wasn't clear if Watt slipped, the rookie knocked him down, or some combination of the two. Regardless, somehow Watt falling on his ass didn't make it out of the editing room. Shocking!

With that said, more power to him. Watt's seems like a decent enough guy. He works hard and seems to keep his nose out of trouble. He's a 20 something guy living the high life and not being a total ass about it. In my twenties, if HK turned me into the latest super-cool, football-hero, Mr. Terrific to sell some ads, I am pretty sure my ego would have grown (along with my stupidity) exponentially.

At the end of the day, HK is entertainment TV. HBO isn't there to present a balanced look at a team or any particular player. They are there to find or create stories that get eyeballs on the screen. Sometimes that means ginning up some drama, sometimes that means giving the fanboys what they want. Tuesday, the fanboys were the big winners.
