There's always next year, if he says how he feels about the franchise, then he will sign back with Redskins.

This franchise is like Alice in Wonderland: jam yesterday (well, in the 80s) and jam tomorrow (next year), but never jam today. Honestly, it does feel like we're cursed.

I am sure he will think highly of the franchise for stepping up to sign him amid controversy -- he's said as much. But unless either Murphy or Smith show more than they've shown so far this preseason and in TC, then it seems clear that our D just took a big hit.

I have faith Preston Smith will shine, it will take him a few games before he figures it out.

I thought he looked good in preseason. I think we can survive with the Murphy/Smith combo. I just don't think the D will be as disruptive as we envisioned.

I also want to see more of Houston Bates (3 sacks in 2 games). Is he a flash in the pan? The injury might also land Jeffcoat a roster spot.

Hopefully he can become a pass rushing ace, and not a flash in the pan.

I think he could have a Ryan Kerrigan like rookie season. 6-8 sacks a couple forced fumbles
