Re: Cousins to start 2015 Season

The BIGGEST advantage Cousins and McCoy have is they actually understand the position and the offense the Skins are using..IF RGlll actually could grasp this we would not be talking about it..I can't see Robert ever being a starter on any team again.

Gruden needs to be patient with Cousins, he'll probably throw his share of INTs, but give him a chance instead of turning to McCoy right away.

Hopefully the offense can get the running game going without Griffin in there.

I think they are all pretty convinced that kirk can be a really good qb in this league. He is getting a boost from many former coaches

They are making my man Joey T. Gloat, who last year people thought was on crack.

I see some Hall of Famers on that INT list, as well as future Hall of Famers. Yet this fanbase freaks out when a 4th rounder with less than 10 starts throws picks. Amazing.

KC is going to need a running game. We can't have him dropping back 45 times and expect to not have turnovers. Hopefully we can stay balanced.

To run the ball you have to run the ball.

It's hard to run against 8 in the box. The Ravens were in base run D even in several obvious passing downs and consistently had 8 in the box.

I don't think ALFMO's stats were that troubling considering what he was running into (FYI, I wish they were better.)

Morris is a constant. Jones is killing people and juking them all at the same time.

Kirk is a relative unknown without much on film.

If you're a defensive coordinator do you play the pass or the run against us the first game of the season?

I think they will play the run hard, pressure Kirk and force him to make quick decisions. They will see if he can beat them with his arm IMHO.

With their front 7, I think they will test that first and see if they can stop the run and the pass without the extra man in the box. If we run on them well, then they will bring the safety up in the box. With their front 7, you give them a chance first before opening yourself up for the pass. Especially since they can rush the passer good without blitzes, and with the addition of Suh, I think it makes it more dangerous.

Brees, another one of the many good/great QBs who are not scary athletic, had 29TDs and 31INTs over his first 3 seasons. Chargers were done with him and drafted Rivers. He had 27TDs and only 7INTs in Rivers' rookie season.

I bet there were a lot of Chargers fans who thought he'd never figure it out. Just takes some guys more time. Maybe KC is one of those guys.

Can't figure much out if you can't stay healthy enough to play. Griffin isn't a QB. He's a shiny mirror ball doing just enough razzle dazzle to keep people from noticing that he isn't humble enough to shut up, show up and put up..

I couldn't agree more. I believe a lack of a running game was the source of a lot of KC problems. If I'm not mistaken AM average like 40 yards per game when Kirk was the starter last year. I believe with a good running game Kirk can be a very good qb. He just needs the organization and the coaches to be patient.
