Kirk goes half the field in 20 seconds to lead us into OT, Grant literally fell down on the INT, yet we're blaming Kirk?

Maybe I'm watching a different game

Grant fell down trying to readjust to the throw being nowhere near where he thought it was going to be. The ball was not thrown to where the receiver was. Either Grant ran the wrong route or Cousins read it wrong; either way it's too early to know; we're going to have to hear how it is explained in the post game.

That is what I thought. It seemed everyone was running curl routes (including the inside receiver) but Kirk threw it to the outside which surprised Grant.

I would like to hear the play call as well.

What it looked like to me was that Grant falling down and Kirk's throw were not 100% related to why the INT happened.

It looked like Kirk rushed a throw because he felt pressure. This is one flaw in Cousins's game that we saw more last season, and a little bit this season. He feels pressure and looks to avoid the sack so he will hurry a throw before a target is out of their break, which leaves the ball in no man's land or in this case, in the defender's hands unfortunately.

If Grant does not fall down, I am still not convinced it is a catch. Maybe he gets a hand on it and it goes incomplete, maybe there is no INT, or at least no return yards on the INT, but that ball was throw way wide.

Re: Redskins v. Falcons Gameday Thread

I think we're close but still searching for a winning formula

Sometimes playcalling is sharp sometimes not

Sometimes we get pass rush sometimes not

Ditto penalties, explosive plays, etc

22 carries in a ballgame this close doesn't meet the standard for me

Have to be more creative with the run game, less predictable....run from spread formations not just base on 1st down...surprise them with pass on 1st...don't be afraid to call back to back runs.....mesh the base pass offense and the base run offense to function from some of the same formations...don't be afraid to run against 8man fronts we did it against the Rams and seemed to put that game plan on the shelf...give A RB enough carries to get a rhythm. I don't care anymore if its Alf or Jones but give 1 of them the bulk

Gotta get better in the run game if we're gonna win this year

I totally agree!! This had a great drive to get us to ot!! Then he didn't want to stand in and deliver under pressure!!

This is every QB's flaw and that's how you win in the NFL.
On defense, you pressure the QB to force them to make mistakes.
On Offense, you run the ball so it neutralizes the pressure.

We need to give the ATL D a lot of credit for dialing up that blitz and executing on the play.

An out to the sideline is a risky throw.
Grant probably does have the best hands on the team but I think teams are starting to sit on his routes since he isn't a threat to run by them.

KC made a great read picking up the blitz but he made a bad decision throwing to Grant. He just isn't going to win his matchup on the outside.

Not having a legit TE hurt us.
This is where guys like Romo and Brady throw to their safety blanket TE's.

Re: Redskins v. Falcons Gameday Thread

cousins made the right throw, off target but to the guy with single coverage.
unfortunately it was fucking grant.., if you look at all of kirk's ints, I'd be willing to bet at least half of them had fucking grant involved in some way.

Looks like Brad Pitt, plays like Brad Shitt. Looks like Robert Redford , plays like Robert Redturd. I feel bad for rest of the team. Any chance we can suit up Joey Theismann next week?
