Re: Who is Kirk Cousins?

It's encouraging that Cousins has been able to quickly nip the turnovers in the bud. You have a guy like the "golden child" Luck who hasn't really been able to shake the turnovers but the media has overlooked it time and time again, and contrast that with Kirk who hasn't really been turning the ball over with any regularity in over a month yet the media still always seems to mention "if he can keep the turnovers in check" whenever the subject of Kirk is brought up.

Re: Who is Kirk Cousins?

Gruden and McVay really opened up the offense yesterday. Had a lot of longer routes than usual, seem like Jordan was split out more than usual, longer developing plays etc.

You could see the emphasis to get D Jax more touches, I like that.

Seems like more layers were added in the passing attack which just shows more faith in Cousins.

Totally agree. That's what makes the Dallas game so baffling.

I'm a Gruden supporter, but I'm still not over Dallas.

Someone that is about about to be filthy rich in a matter of weeks/months. He's our QB. Get use to liking that for the next 5-10 years.

Re: Who is Kirk Cousins?

One stat puts Cousins ahead of Brady, Manning, Brees, others | CSN Mid-Atlantic

I like Cousins potential because he doesn't take a lot of sacks, so he doesn't get hurt much. BUT, all the positive press and crazy stats makes me worry(in a Redskins fan paranoia way) that the season is a bit fluky, and we will see regression next year - assuming we don't bungle the extension/resigning of him.

from the article:
Quote:
But nobody quite realized that Cousins’ home season was history in the making. The NFL revealed today that no quarterback in league history with a minimum of 100 pass attempts at home has had a higher completion percentage than Cousins’ mark of 74.7. Not Brady in Foxborough, not Manning in the dome in Indy, not Brees in the Superdome, not Marino at the Orange Bowl.

Re: Who is Kirk Cousins?

I just don't think this is about all Cousins, I think its really about Gruden, McVay and Cousins. Cousins isn't an elite, top 5, carry everything on his shoulders type QB...they are super rare.

But the Skins did get a taste of that "eliteness" with RG3...everything was there. Big plays, armstrength, make every throw, win big games, vocal, says all the right things, leader, etc. So as a fanbase, we all thought we had this finally!!!

Reality set in the previous 2 years, so even with Cousins doing all this...I still know he has limitations. With that being said, Gruden is brought in as QB/Offensive Guru so its his responsibility to get this thing together. McVay still has a lot to prove as a O Coordinator.

So I think we can say Cousins, Gruden and McVay have all made stride this year. Lets continue to build, but lets stay a little medium with this.

Did Griff ever have a qbr of 120 at home n go 6-2? Maybe he had limitations. Im sick of that crap. Ya dont have to be flashy to be great ya just gotta be great. Ive seen Cousins carry this team plenty this year. Plenty enough to know that he can do it again n again.

Re: Who is Kirk Cousins?

I agree with whoever mentioned Jordan Reed being split out more yesterday. I am used to seeing him run those 5-7 yard routes where he usually gets contact at the point of catch and fights for the first down.

Not sure if McVay saw a weakness in Buffalo's secondary specifically or they just decided the time was right, but Reed was all over the place getting open. He is such a mis-match for any defense that wants to play safties due to be worried about Jackson over the top. Reed was simply running down middle of the field, baiting a safety into coming up to cover, and just juked them. Wide open.

Imagine where KC would rank if he did not have "limitations "

Re: Who is Kirk Cousins?

probably not the place, but for those who cry to get rid of DJax, when he is healthy, he changes the other team's game plan. And if you say, yeah but only when he's healthy, I'll say ok, but let's see what the draft brings and if we get a guy, then fine, otherwise DJax is a top guy when he does what he does.

There is no DJax replacement in this draft.

Re: Who is Kirk Cousins?

Only time i ever called for djax head was after the backwards run/fumble. That was pure anger. Always want him on this team until he loses a step. Dudes a game-changer.
That being said if I recall he was waving the ball around alittle early again yesterday on the TD. I could be mistaken but wasnt he holding it out with his rite hand at like the ten yard line? He needs to stop that shit because next time it costs us a game the hate will never subside !

Re: Who is Kirk Cousins?

Very simply - DJax makes KC better. Much better. Unless you got a similar option out there, he's the guy.

Re: Who is Kirk Cousins?

Big DJax fan, how much do you pay him and for how long?

The dude is super talented and absolutely opens everything up for other receivers and affects our running game.

Fast twitch guys are always having issues with hamstrings but how much did his offseason preparation affect his early season availability? Did he come in this year in top shape? I honestly have no idea, but TBH it's a concern. That and the reality show.

He didn't affect any defense when he wasn't on the field.

If he would listen to his mama, I'd say back the truck up and pay the dude now.

McLovin's big money signings won't be looking 1 year in advance and I'm not sure he is a guy you pay top shelf money to over a long term deal. There is a team somewhere that will however.

I don't think he is here after 2016.
