SF seriously pursuing Shanahan now that Jackson is gone.
Mike Shanahan reportedly strong contender for 49ers’ opening - SFGate

Re: Coach Changes: Firings/Hirings
No , if that was the case Coughlin would still be there.

Re: Coach Changes: Firings/Hirings
It's an Eli endorsed move lets just say that. I know McAdoo was viewed as a possible replacement for Coughlin from the time he was brought in. And obviously the Eagles were interested too. |

Re: Coach Changes: Firings/Hirings
Seems like McAdoo was kinda like a Lovie situation down in Tampa. The Eagles were apparently really high on McAdoo as their front runner. Giants wanted to his presence in the offense to continue. Think Eli probably endorsed that line of thinking.
But keeping Spags around is dumb.

Re: Coach Changes: Firings/Hirings
49ers expected to choose between Chip Kelly and Mike Shanahan for their next HC, per league sources. Decision likely within next 24 hours
per schefter Wow is all I can say....Shanny is seriously a candidate

Re: Coach Changes: Firings/Hirings
Sources: Coughlin says Eagles job not a fit
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the former Giants coach is withdrawing his name from consideration for the Eagles job. Coughlin had concerns about staff structure and didn't feel he had a strong candidate to be his OC if he took the job, a source told ESPN's Dan Graziano. Slap in the face of the eagles and where is this win now job?
