Gibbs Press Conference

Has anyone else noticed the intensity of Gibbs in this press conference? The man is fired up. I don't think I have ever hear him raise his voice, and flail(sp) his arms around when talking about the penalties and the refs. I love the passion he brings to the game....round 2 is shaping up and there is light at the end of the 5 year tunnel....I GUARANTEE IT!

Hail to the Redskins....and for those that are worried about GW leaving, there are two coaches underneath him that are MORE than capable of running the D.

You are correct. Blache and Lindsay are more than capable of commanding the defense. I think it would be to Williams' benefit to stick around though.

If you look at the great offensive minds in the game, they spent many years under someones tuteledge (sp). While Williams has never lacked in defensive acumen, he should be soaking up as much as he can from Gibbs.

But that was as animated as I've ever seen Gibbs - betcha his players have seen that side of him though.

Re: Gibbs Press Conference

Yeah when you here Gibbs who does not point the finger and he starts getting upset after watching film and phantom calls. He said the safety wasn't even the worst of the calls. He was pretty intense for Gibbs and talked about those penalties twice during his press conference. The NFL does nor do shit about these poor calls. Did it seem everytime a momentum changing play occurred, somehow that is when a penalty was called.

1 PI on Patten TD

1 review from above on Brunell pass the line took out FG range

1 motion on 54 yard good FG

1 holding on Portis 25 yard run

Tuck rule call negated safety

I am probably missing some, but no chance did we get to make a big play a switch the momentum in a major way.

You forgot the biggest non call of the game. The Cooley pass interference.

Re: Gibbs Press Conference

I totally agree--Gibbs is rarely that fired up in a presser, and he was HOT about the officiating. He said they looked at the tape and couldn't even see what MIGHT have been a hold on the Portis run, and that there was NO WAY Patten interfered. He called them "mystery calls." The man was pissed. Gives you a little feel for his intensity--he gives that "aw, shucks," kinda thing usually, but he is a passionate dude.

And he is so right about the officiating last week!

Well worth checking out--skins.com

Re: Gibbs Press Conference

Oh, yeah--also listen to him rant about the Denver cut block. They can't see that all game, but they call us for a phantom hold. Ugh.

Re: Gibbs Press Conference

I'm glad he's fired up .............

On the refs......they should be fired, but what becomes of these bad calls, they call the front office and tell the ref shame shame and we still have one in the "L" column.....sigh!

Re: Gibbs Press Conference

The replay officials need to be fired as well. If it isn't painfully obvious the disrespect we're getting from NFL refs, then obviously people are shutting their eyes and acting as ignorant as possible.

Cool Re: Gibbs Press Conference

I was at the game yesterday and even the stup Broncos fans couldn't really say anything about the bad calls. I hate the Broncos so much more after being with all of those idiots in the stands. They have the most ignorant fans in football. It has been hard living out here the last three years. They are so pathetic. They really believed they dominated us on Sunday. That game made me so sick with the officiating. Patten absolutely burned that db for a touchdown. Clear as day.But the best play of the game was when Portis absolutely laid out Al Wilson. Everybody idiot there was telling me that there is only one #56 b/c I was sporting my LA jersey. There actually was a lot of Burgandy and gold at the game though and we were tailgating with all of Chris Cooley's family. His dad is cool as hell.

Re: Gibbs Press Conference

Whoever said it on here that Gregg Williams should be the head coach because he was more intense....well take a look at that press conference, chief. THAT is the real Joe Gibbs. You don't get more passionate and willful than Joe. Williams LOVES Gibbs. He'd be a fool to leave and go coach like...Houston or Minnesota. Once Gibbs retires, Snyder will hand the keys to the kingdom to GW and pay him a king's ransom. Plus, I imagine Gibbs will remain with the organization in some managerial or ownership capacity. But for now, I love seeing ole Joe bent outta shape!! Bodes well for our upcoming games. I predict victory in KC!!!!
Hail to the Redskins!
