Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread

I went back and watched the entire game again..say what you want to BUT Kirk Cousins is the reason we lost this game..On the first int he missed a wide open Crowder for Td. He in my opinion is NOT a elite QB and never will be..is he better than average ..YES he is..but I'm not sure that is worth what he will cost..I'm not sure he will be signed long term .maybe this is why he has not been signed so far..Somebody knows something and don't be surprised if Cousins plays another year at franchise tag then moves on..Truth is we need a big time elite QB and until we get that we should not mortgage the farm on Cousins. he can't take us to a super bowl..no way! he is at best a mid pack 9-7, 10-6 guy who never wins the big game.I have seen enough if he can't get it together to beat A panther team who was out of playoffs and a giants team who put up 13 points then why would he deserve a 20 plus million dollar salary?? Guys I was a big Cousins supporter..was...not any more.

Problem is, who do we go get?? Lynch or simien in a trade? That's about all we got.

KC lost a few million off his contract but the Skins are still his most likely landing place

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread

If you really think Kirk single handedly lost the game yesterday you are nuts. He had constant pressure in his face, I'd place more of the blame for the loss on the OL than anything.

And oh yeah, the Giants D is pretty damn good for anyone who wasn't paying attention all year. It's definitely a D they could ride all the way to Houston.

He did have constant pressure in his face, but that is what your legs are for. Some of those sacks he took were horrendous. Snacks took about 4 steps right at him and I swear to God Kirk did not even see him. There were a few other times where I was thinking "dude run "! His awareness and his mobility were just pure shit yesterday. I know he is not a running quarterback but that was straight garbage yesterday.

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread

Sounds like this site will turn to absolute carnage if Cousins gets a 25 million per year long term contract OR they let him walk. There seems to be a legitimate 50/50 split on how Cousins is viewed here.

My feelings, are offer him 5 years/100 million, take it or leave it. Its still a lot of money, compared to other yearly numbers being thrown out there it still leaves some extra for other players. And that's more than he's making this year, but its not Aaron Rodgers money either, because he doesn't deserve that type money.

That interception to end the season was one of the dumbest passes I've ever seen. It was 1st and 10 with about a minute and a half left, and we still had 2 timeouts. What the fuck was he thinking throwing it over the middle like that. I thought that was getting picked as soon as he threw it. And its not his 1st time making dumb ass decisions like that. If he doesn't fix that shit, he isn't going to be worth my proposed 20 million a year either, but you have to risk it because the options out there aren't great, unless we're trying to get Deshaun Watson or something with our 1st pick, which would also be really risky.

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread

I am a KC supporter and believe in his smarts, work ethic, and strong, accurate throwing. But I am deeply shaken by his inability to perform well under pressure. I think this is not only true in big games, but also in within games, meaning when we get into the red zone. Pressure makes some players (and all the great players) better. Kirk tightens up under pressure. So you can aggregate all his stats and decide to be impressed, but success in this league means succeeding in increasingly more high-pressure situations leading into and through the playoffs.

I love watching our team now on 3rd and 6 in the 2nd quarter of a game in the middle of the season against an average team. Kirk looks scary good completing a 20 yard pass to Crowder or Reed. But I am rapidly losing confidence in his ability to do that when we have to win against a Dallas or NYG. He doesn't have the killer instinct. He doesn't improvise under pressure. He crumbles.

Maybe he needs some killer-instinct guys around him to help rev up the energy level of the team. But seeing how badly he plays in must-win games is deeply troubling.

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread

He had 8 4th quarter drives to put us ahead or win the game. How many more does he need to have that killer instinct?

Who did these games come against? I know last year, he had 2 versus 2 non-playoff teams, the Bucs and Eagles. What were the other 6?

It was discussed on Cooley and Kevin today.

To me, that's just another good stat, he has lots of those. But he's also laid lots of eggs in the big games and those matter the most. As of now, he does not play nearly good enough in big games to have any confidence in him in those situations. I still can't get over that interception. So stupid.

Very sad, but very true.

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread

As of now, Cousins is a Sunday at 10:00 a.m. player.

Move him into primetime, big games, and, for the most part, he lays an egg. That was a huge t-rex dinosaur egg he laid on that interception yesterday.

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread

Skins fans are so used to blowing things up every couple of years this is just par for the course.

I find it odd that some can't see the progress. From 2004 - 2014 we finished last 8 of those years. 8 times. So far with McCloughan we have a winning record, a division title, and were competing for the playoffs right down until the final game this year.

But yeah let's let Cousins walk, hand the ball to McCoy, and fire the coordinators. Sounds like a recipe for a Super Bowl title next year doesn't it?
