Re: Redskins Free Agency 2016
General note. I used to LOVE Redskins free agency, waiting on bated breath for every move. Now I'm kind of like please don't do something stupid, no whammies no whammies.
What deal struck in the first day or two of free agency ever worked out? I gotta think the hit rate (getting the right value for the money) is like 10%. You do much better on the late March pickups.

reggie white drew brees peyton manning (sort of) london fletcher (not a brinx truck, but he was well paid). revis some others i'm sure. you do need something like a 90% hit rate on big money FAs to make sure you're not actively hurting your team's average talent year over year, and no one really hits that. honestly a lot of the best FA moves are the ones you don't make. switching systems and team mates can really throw the communication and knowledge of a person's fit in the scheme into the gutter. some guys have a lot more trouble figuring out their new role than others, which is part of the risk. our worst two, AH and AA, were both player that were asked to do things they never showed that they were good at (4-3 pass rushing DE that wants money -> run stopping NT that cares about football, and slow in the box SS -> centerfield coverage guy). |

Re: Redskins Free Agency 2016
Will Blackmon made some big time plays last year. When he stripped the Dallas RB on the 1 or 2 yard line to save a sure TD...that was flat out brilliant.
He wasn't terrible in coverage- not great, but not terrible. I would like to see him back. |

Re: Redskins Free Agency 2016
Saw something on twitter that McCoy was staying with the Skins but haven't seen any confirmation from any of the standard sources.

Colt McCoy stays in Washington | ProFootballTalk
Now we need to pick up a couple UDFA QBs and let them throw in training camp and we are all set at this position.

Re: Redskins Free Agency 2016
Why? Its time for Kedric to retire. He had a nice career but he brings nothing on the field.
