Mixed emotions on this one. That's a lot of money for a 29 year old with one very good year under his belt. I do like his competitiveness though. He'll blend in with Cully and DHall well. If we somehow could get Ragland in Round 1, our D would have some intimidating dudes!

He's 28. Will be 28 for nearly all the regular season. Let's stop throwing age in as a negative. Got out of college at age 24, so a little less wear and tear than you might expect...

He is 29, but he is a young 29. Late bloomer. Coming into his prime. 53 games is not alot. Drafted in 2012.

28. He's 28 until December 15, when the regular season is practically over. These negative age insinuations are driving me crazy. He graduated college at 25, not a lot of wear, was drafted in the same draft as Kirk Cousins. Both just came off their rookie contracts. We are getting a player in his absolute prime.

Knowing what we know about his performance, he has a higher value than anyone that's going to be drafted next week. It's like we were gifted a proven number 1 pick that happens to be an all pro. And we're getting him for his prime years. So exactly what's not to like?

You say the money. I say what's it to you, not coming out of your pocket, and we have adults, smart guys, running the show. I guarantee we keep all the players we really want to keep. We fell into this one, folks. The football gods are continuing to smile on us...

Cully is definitely gone after this signing, you meant to say how he blend with Breeland and Dunbar.

This is good news....sure, he's expensive, but he's also as good as they come.

Spend your top money on QB, LT& CB.

We'll be fine...we'll manage the cap and better yet...Our Defense just got MUCH better!

At 28 not 29 btw he's in the prime of his career, this is a great pickup for us.. I understand the worry with our past but SM knows football and knows what he is doing.. U add JN to this defense and if healthy this team is a contender to make a SB run. 9-7 last yr with no defense pretty much at all (db especially) Get another DL in the draft at #21 and add a Center in the 2nd round.. We will be fine. My only worry is keeping Kirk and Reed long term
