Yes, BUT. . .

The cap penalty hurt our depth the most. We still had big money "stars" on the team but we weren't able to get and keep that intermediate level depth across all positions to account for the inevitable injuries that occur during the season.

In addition to hurting depth, the cap penalty directly hurt the quality of our special teams because those are the players that fill out that unit.
