Sorry, that's way too convenient imo. He's a career politician. He will do or say whatever it takes to benefit himself, whether he actually believes it or not.

Isn't that part of the game of governing for the people, giving them what they want even if it doesn't line up exactly with what you believe?

Regardless of how or why protecting gay marriage is a good thing.

61% of Americans approve.

Sure, but that's different than being a phony liar. His 'beliefs' just blow in the wind to be in whatever position benefits himself. He would still be against gay marriage if 61% of Americans were against it.

Put "biden on gay marriage 2008" into a Google search. All you get is a bunch of results about the Same-Sex Marriage act signed today. Nothing about what he said in 2008.
NPR was playing clips of Biden in 2008 yesterday on the news

Re: Media Bias

Reading the article makes me depressed. Only 61% of Americans see equal rights as a good thing. Actually less than that when broken down even further. I would have hoped it would been higher.

yeah but consider where opinions were 20 years ago

Quote:
Views of the impact of same-sex marriage on society are largely unchanged since 2019. However, there has been a dramatic increase in public support for same-sex marriage over the past two decades. As recently as 2004, nearly twice as many Americans opposed than favored allowing gay and lesbian people to marry legally; by 2019, public opinion had reversed, with 61% in favor and 31% opposed.

Absolutely MTK! My views alone have changed so dramatically over the last 20/25 years even my kids are amazed (and proud) of me. Biden is the age of my parents and there is no way in the World they would accept any of the things going on now, if a President who is a practicing Catholic can see fit to do what is right there is hope for this Country.

Why, this Country couldn't even get the ERA passed. trump got elected with a us against them attitude and plenty on this board went along with it and still do.

Black against White

Rich against poor

Men against Women

Gay against Straight

Americans against all Immigrants

Any Religion against any other Religion.

Frankly it is disturbing that you are okay with the above. For me it is depressing that Americans act that way but you do you.

Your reading comprehension is a little off here.
The fact that you take away that I'm fine with it from that post explains alot of what is wrong here.

Re: Media Bias

I can only assume that you are okay with that stuff because you asked why to when I said it was depressing only 61% were in favor of gay marriage and then gave a list of other negative things.

And then I pointed out that we can't even get the ERA passed, sad yes but again why are you surprised when that's what trump campaigned on? Read my post to MTK.

I didn't say surprised I said depressed. Why are you assuming I am surprised?

Same way you assume I'm okay with all that BS.
