Re: Junior Galette done for the year (again)
It wasn't meant to be for Galette. Two straight years with the same injury? And what sucks is he got hurt and it wasn't even in a damn game. His body obviously isn't holding up, for whatever reason. Feel bad for the guy, seems like he was pretty much living at Redskin Park.

Re: Junior Galette done for the year (again)
Gotta keep an eye on him for next year though. On one hand you'd be crazy to sink much guaranteed money into him, for obvious reasons. But at the same time, every other team in the NFL would be, too.
You approach your draft and offseason like you normally would, which includes drafting a pass rusher if you can, but there's a $ value low enough where Junior's upside makes it worth a shot. If somebody overpays for him and he flies the coop, that's the business and you wish him well. But, incentive laden contract with little to no guaranteed money? This is where you look for the low risk high reward type of thing. If you can't get it, oh well.

Wouldn't hurt to sign him on the cheap. Nobody is going to give him significant money that's for sure. |

Re: Junior Galette done for the year (again)
I am really interested to see how the team handles his salary this year.
The way it was reported on the radio was that the team won't have to pay him more than a OTA workout bonus based on the timing of the injury. It's been reported that McLovin prides himself on treating players well to attract potential free agents to sign here when the competition is close with other teams. I wonder if the team will pay him any of his salary to maybe get the first crack at him next year and enhance the PR aspect of it. The counter argument is that with the tag on Kirk, cap space will be at a premium and they might pursue multiple people to try to come up with some solution to the pass rush problem.

My prediction anyway. I hope a repaired achilles means a stronger achilles.

Re: Junior Galette done for the year (again)
Junior seems to think he'll be back on the field this year is what I was talking about. I suppose he will be put on IR and if the team makes the playoffs and he makes a miraculous comeback he seems to think he can make, then he can be brought back then.
