Re: Breaking: Trent Williams Suspended 4 Games
4 games is gonna be rough, but the decent thing is is we got an extra week to get nseke ready to go. Nseke is good swing tackle but certainly the best left tackle in the game right now will be missed.
Any talk of Trent going anywhere is kra kra. Everyone chill out and smoke sum kush

Re: Breaking: Trent Williams Suspended 4 Games
Ignoring the parts of the article at the beginning that read like they were written by a stoner, this is a good article about Eugene Monroe, aka that ex-NFL tackle who got cut by the Ravens for being a marijuana advocate.
Retired Baltimore Ravens tackle used marijuana to quit football

Re: Breaking: Trent Williams Suspended 4 Games
I will say, I don't know why marijuana is even a banned substance on the NFL's list, let alone illegal.
I still think people who smoke it are losers, whether it's legal or not, but there's no reason it should be illegal and there's no reason the NFL should consider it a banned substance. It's all neither here nor there, though. The rules are the rules and TW broke them, whether it was pot or a missed test or something different altogether, it's a let-down no matter what.

Not to stray to far from football, but why losers if you think it should be legal? It is not crack it is weed. Follow up question, do you think people who drink are losers? |

So tobacco addiction, alcoholism, pain killers, any of that. Addiction = loser because you failed to recognize the demon and stop it in its tracks. Weed, if done socially with no signs of addiction, I don't really have a beef. Same with social drinking. I partake in social drinking, and very rarely binge drinking. But I know the signs of addiction, I know what leads to it, what causes it, and I know how to avoid it, so I do. Or, in the absence of actual medical addiction, if the behavior affects your mind or behavior to the point where memory recall is worse, or motivation is lower, or effectiveness in the workplace is lower, that also equates to loser. Basically, have fun, but keep it in control. If this stuff gets out of control and affects your life, then you're weak, and can't keep the demons at bay. That's a loser.

Ok. I mean I am going to probably have a little more empathy for an addict because I think it permeates just a simple choice and actually affects the person physically. The demon of addiction can sneak up on someone. Before they realize what is happening it has you in its clutches. Yes though at some point you have to seek help, and put on your big boy pants. |

My dad's been a smoker for 45 years. And my grandmother was an alcoholic. I definitely have lower opinions of them because of those things. Just in case anybody's thinking I'm not even handed in my dickhead judgment of people.

I'd guess at least 2/3 of the league smokes. It beats drinking or pill popping. Hopefully with this election a few more states will pass recreational use.

Re: Breaking: Trent Williams Suspended 4 Games
I don't know if you saw 60 minutes on Sunday night but they did a piece on the effects of legalized pot in CO. One big effect is lots of babies being born with THC in their system because their mother smoked and it is stored in fat and therefore in the system much longer than alcohol. Pueblo is actually looking to ban the recreational use of pot because of all the unintended consequences of legalized pot. I used to be all for legalized pot but after spending time in CO and dealing with stoned people all the time and talking to those who live there about all the problems it has created I'm not sure legalizing it is such a good idea after all. If you haven't seen the 60 minutes show I recommend watching it.

Do you think that the pregnant women were smoking pot because it was legal? People who want to smoke pot do. No matter where they live. I have friends in Colorado and have never heard any comments or issues about living there? Be more specific about the problems it has causes. Besides longer lines at the drive throughs.... |

Yeah legal or not people are going to do what they want to do. Legalization hasn't shown to increase the number of users. |

As best I remember there are problems with DUI of pot because there's no easy test like for booze. Also problem with how it affects developing brains of people up to around 25. To be clear, I wasn't talking about the problems, 60 minutes was. Take a look at the show if you can. The problems I did encounter in CO were stoned wait staff messing up orders all the time. That was pretty much every restaurant I went to. Also stoned ski lift attendants. None of they were bumbling or stumbling but they were pretty well lit. I talked to a few stoned bar tenders and they talked about how they smoked on break which I thought was odd since I'm sure they wouldn't be allowed to drink on break and work drunk. At the beginning of the week it was funny but by the end of the week it got old. |

Yeah I know you were talking about 60 minutes. That guy needs to smoke a J. Lol. There are a ton of studies showing anything you want or choose to believe that pot will do to you. Imo it is 110% safer than a cigarette. Especially today when it is readily available in several different ways to consume besides smoking. Edibles. Vape. Wax. I have lived on and around ski areas. I got news for you, every ski lift attendant is stoned and always has been. Legal or not. Lol. You bought up the drinking vs smoking thing for the bar tenders. Well don't you think drinks might lead to a more rowdy/possibly violent/sick/ or reckless mood? If the bar tender gets stoned he or she might eat all the pretzels but.... Honestly I for one really do not see the problem. I think the whole world needs to slow down, relax, and laugh a little. |
