Why would you try and go back to figuring out who the long term guy is when we pretty much know who that guy is? He's just coming off a season where he broke and tied Redskin passing records in his first full year starting. Yeah he does throw stupid picks but so does Eli Manning. And i have to sort of laugh at myself and the way this thread is going because we brought up Brian Hoyer again LOL. A few pages back, the debate was going on about Brian Hoyer and i made my now infamous quote about Kenny Britt saying that Case Keenum was a baller, and after that post, Keenum went on to throw 7 interceptions in 2 games...

I'm more interested in what you believe should be done. Taking a position, owning it, and being prepared to defend it is an approach that seems to produce good discussions around here.

I think that they should give Cousins what he is asking for. I realize that they cannot negotiate with him until after the season but we need to lock him up for the next 4 or 5 years.

I agree with you. I think he'll be a solid QB for us for years to come. Even if I didn't think so, I just don't see a viable alternative. The Skins should also keep drafting QB's because you never know when you might strike gold.

Also just to contribute to the discussion I am in agreement that Kirk should be retained for several years at a reasonable price.

For the 1,000th time, the market will determine the price. The Redskins decision on Kirk will be binary: either pay the market rate or get another starting QB.
