For me, the whole idea was just flat-out stupid. In addition to the logistics, it just flat out wouldn't work.

I also think if we establish an existing path, then we bring harsher penalties to those who cross illegally. Actual Human traffickers are shown no mercy...they get caught and locked up immediately with no bail. Human trafficking is the scummiest of all scum. I think a stronger border is a must...maybe not a wall in all places, but defiantly a more secure border...lets use technology. Its unfortunate, but a lot of folks don't really understand what the people of texas and Arizona go through who live against the border....its bad. Not safe at all. And that's a disservice by the federal government.

Re: Election Day
Trumps 100 day action plan.
https://assets.donaldjtrump.com/_lan...ontractv02.pdf Two different items from that I copied and pasted - ★ FOURTH , begin removing the more than two million criminal illegal immigrants from the country and cancel visas to foreign countries that won’t take them back. End Illegal Immigration Act Fully-funds the construction of a wall on our southern border with the full understanding that the country of Mexico will be reimbursing the United States for the full cost of such wall; establishes a two-year mandatory minimum federal prison sentence for illegally re-entering the U.S. after a previous deportation, and a five-year mandatory minimum federal prison sentence for illegally re-entering for those with felony convictions, multiple misdemeanor convictions or two or more prior deportations; also reforms visa rules to enhance penalties for overstaying and to ensure open jobs are offered to American workers first.

Election Day
Quote:
I would start with insulting muslims, mexicans, women, etc and than being elected potus. Minor details. Im glad people are protesting. At least the rest of the world knows that we are not all fans of his crass racist ignorant speech. Do not ever underestimate the power of words. Edit - c-red remember me accidentally flipping the bird to the old lady who was a cowboy fan? U had a problem with that kind of hate. So i guess im wondering how you could even ask the question "what kind of damage he has done"? |

I'm not going to defend every statement Trump has ever made, there are too many bonehead ones. But I do like that instead of walking around in a PC cloud, he spoke openly about what he sees as the issues, and let the cards fall where they may. Speaking non-PC in this PC driven world was amazingly refreshing, even if at times it makes you understand how PC speak came into existence. If he continues the tone once in office then that may well do some long term damage, but whether it was the republican primaries, or the general election, he said and did what he thought it took to defeat his opponents. If he attacks the US's real problems with that same vigor and clear speech, I hope we will see real progress across the cultural spectrum and in the long run a far more united country As for the flipping the bird incident, it was an overt one on one act which at the time I obviously reacted to. (I don't really remember the details of the encounter - or my comments about it - but you bring it up often enough I clearly reacted strongly). |
